I've had a Nomad trailer since 2007, and it is a handy little trailer. You have the rack on back wards by the way :) If you want to actually water proof your tailer. Get the Flex Steel Spray, clear. And hose down all the fabric bits. I've done that, and it worked great. Stay safe.

We put the rack that way for our solar panel. Love this trailer

Nice review. I have used it the last two years for a bike tour. I have the newer model.I notice with 25-30 kg of materials it does feel more heavy and pulls on the bike, even uphill.I have found it most enjoyable in combination with an ebike. Negatives I have experienced is that with more weight there is a bigger burden on the rear axel which causes the wheel axel and axel of the trailer to sag on the quick release push button hinges. This makes the wheels on both sag, causing the pins to bend. Especially when frequently getting off sidewalks and bumpy roads or stony trails. It will cause the pins of the quick release wheels to bend. On off road or gravel trails it will make biking a bit heavier as the wheels are less aligned. Squeek more on longer trips, and potentially be the weak point of the bike trailer in my view. The water "resistant" side covers can reasonably with stand the frequent European rainy weather, though they are absolutely not water proof. I do wrap non waterproof gear in plastics bags or water proof bags in the trailer tonkeep them extra dry. Tip is to put thin floor mats on the bottom of the trailer to keep things inside clean and dry. I think the bike rack on top is an amazing addition and worth the investment. Great for the occasional extra bag on top, but otherwise also a great cloths line for drying clothes, while stationary or even on the go! With velcro tape you can even stick extra light on the bike rack for better visibility and illumination. When folded up and with a third collapsible walking wheel, you can easily stroll it around. Use the bike rack a make as a makeshift handle bar. For those short walks. I think the weakest point I think the trailer lacks decent shock absorption in the axel, which I think could help with longer lasting wheels and axel on offriad or uneven terrain. I also mis and option for a collapsible handlebar. For those moments you want to convert to short walks with the trailer as a cargo stoller. The it would be a truly versatile tour and cargo stoller. The room is indeed ample in my experience. Though sometimes I wish the framework was just a little bit more square in the back and less "aerodynamic" to fit gear in the back more easily.

Thank you for this video. Hope you folks are faring well. I am planning a trip of my own and have been looking for a trailer. Your video goes a long way to making that decision, I liked that you said you were not nice to pieces of your kit. Putting gear through hell makes a review even better. From WA. Cheers!!

I wonder if this can be used as a sort of shopping cart. Detach it from the bike and take it inside the store to load it up.

Hello, When the rack is at the top position what the distance between the top of the rack and the ground of the trailer. just to know if my dog can seat in it and have shadow with the rack and the solar panels. Thanks sorry for my english

To be honest with you I’ve never measured that. But it is definitely not taller then 18 inches. But on the other note it is not a hard floor in it. So you would have to put something in there for him/her. But if you watch some of the trip videos you will see the bark ranger that I pulled our dog with which worked amazing

Cool! What solar panels do you use?
@teamultimateexposurewillia7310
I had the nomad 20 from goal zero and had it paired with the old Sherpa 100 from goal zero. Since we’ve upgraded the Sherpa to the new one which is amazing

Physically speaking, is it easier to pull a trailer like that than carrying it all on the bike? I'm an older guy wanting to do the Dalton highway and I need all the help I can get.

Agreed but we also had stuff on the bike as well. So it was rough but a great trailer

Hi! Do you know if the Nomad can hook to a mobility scooter?

I am sure it can be with a little bit of modification

This one has a soft floor. But it is a great little cart. If you are bike camping this is a must

I just watched another video where a guy put a ¼" plywood floor in his Nomad which he sprayed with rubber paint to make it more grippy. In comments other people recommended plastic instead. Probably he was intending to carry cargo which may damage the fabric floor more easily. And some people in comments were saying that the tyres on the new model were cheap and poor quality and they should be replaced. It seems neither of these issues have been a problem for you?
@teamultimateexposurewillia7310
@teamultimateexposurewillia7310 2 года назад
@@tconnolly9820 well all we can tell you is one that the model we have is a older one because we don’t just have the push button removable wheels. I am not sure if the material is different on this model VS the current one. Anything is possible. Now as far as putting a piece of wood in the bottom and spraying it with rubber I’m sure it would work we would not do it because let’s faces it none of us want to carry more weight then we need to. If we we were going to put a floor in the bottom we would use the same type that is in the bark ranger it is a density plastic which I was a little worried about and how it would hold up with our 100 lb wolf in it but it did well. It won’t rust it is super light and durable. Now as for us we’ve not had any problems with the fabric and we have been carrying our little cooking stove as well as our utensils, some dog food , can goods sleeping pads and my solar charger as well as anything else we can put in there. We’ve also taken this down some of the roughest roads and it the worse conditions that you can put it in and we love it. Now if you watched our first 4 videos from the first part of our trip you will see what we are riding in . Most are not and most people we come across are not ever in this type of conditions. So we are happy. But you never know there are always things that can happen but we would say yea to this one. Here is a link to the other trailer I mentioned. If you want a floor use this material bit.ly/3BKdvNM

@@teamultimateexposurewillia7310 Thank you so much for such a detailed response. I appreciate the time you took. Personally I can't help overloading panniers or my own trailer, but I'm a utilitarian and commuting cyclist so very different from you. I will have a look at your video and I will sub after I send this. Regards, Tom.
