Good groove :) I don't achieve some parts as good as you, but I train ! I play this song with my band, and we find out that the first verses are better when I play a long G note one in two, because it highlights the drum rolls, there are some cool riffs you can add and the song rises up over time.
How could anyone not like this, unless they don't like the song in the first place? If so, they should go listen to their contemporary posers instead. I can finally hear the bass to this song! Excellent work!
Great cover. To the tee. Love my Jazz and Sans Amp too. We also have a similar style of playing. Pick, fingers, and both. Nice. Good luck with your music.
finally i made it right how to play it just like u do..hahahaha 2weeks in d making my hands really hurts..but thank u so much for d inspiration..can i request highway star bass line? tnx again more power to ur chanell..
Catalina Villegas U're welcome! Truth be told, the country is indeed beautiful despite the fact that things are getting tougher by the day... Regardless, life goes on! :))
Excelente ejecución Catalina. Te felicito. Yo también toco el bajo, pero el mio es de cinco cuerdas. Una felicitación gigante desde Argentina. Esteban.
Hola catalina! ! no vamos al hacer tributo a los purple pero vamos a tocar unas cuantas versiones y burn es una de ellas, también tocaremos por ejemplo " walking in the sadow of the blues" de Rainbow. nos gusta esa música. mucho gusto conocerte! !
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Not sure what you mean about the plucking part. Do I find it difficult to use the pick perhaps? If that's the case, not at all, I learned how to play bass with both fingers and pick.
Catalina Villegas I am sorry if I confused you....I have only ever plucked...I have tried a few times with a pick...some of my old favourite bassists played this way..(Noel Redding ) on some tracks...and I can't get the hang of it; I have watched a few of your vids and seen you playing both..I was just curious is all.
Ah got it. When I first started playing bass many years ago I began using a pick. I learned how to play with my fingers several years later. Give it a shot, two totally different techniques that will give you a myriad of tonal and musical possibilities. :)
Actually both pickups are completely open. The tone knob is at about 75%, the rest of the tone comes from my pedal setup (primarily my SansAmp). Thanks for writing!
Holaa.. este cover lo aprendi viendo tu video, me siento orgulloso de haberlo sacado, gracias cata... me encanta el sonido de tu bajo, que modelo es ??
Thanks Roberto! Geez I recorded this one so long ago I don't remember exactly....but guessing from the settings I might regularly use I probably had both pickups open completely, or at least almost all the way.
Gracias!
Thanks Felipe! Nope, no tabs. Song is in the key of Gm. Stick to that and it will be easier to figure out. Tabs are usually off anyways. All the best :)
Keely Teslow They're meant for wear and tear ;) But wearing rings on your fretboard hand shouldn't be a problem....they should never really touch the back of the neck, your hand should cup over the back, sorta like floating over and under it. If that makes sense.
Catalina Villegas Makes sense, yes. My concern is, I always lift by the neck in/out of the case and also let it slide into its stand. I'm lucky enough to have access to an '86-4 string and '82-8 string...both Alembics. Let's just say I'm overly-cautious! I'll miss Jack Bruce. \m/
