I liked all three versions, but I'd say Dan Vasc had that feel that went right with the Witcher. All had great vocals. All had a different take on the song. I'd listen to Dan all day.
Huge respect for all 3. Dan Vasc wins the round for me, though. Skars was awesome, too, like you said, but imo, he started out so strong that he had nowhere to go except stronger, which omitted the volume nuances that Dan totally masters.
Dan Vasc, no question. They are all good, but Dan has a once in a lifetime voice and he does the best performance all around. I like Skar Productions version second, but his is just more screaming and growling and lacks the nuance of Dan's performance.
I have to go with Dan. He has tremendous control and does metal without the screaming and screeching so you can clearly hear all the words. The expressions on his face make you feel what he is feeling. Bravo.
It's not at all hard to choose who is THE BEST! DAN VASC! He puts so much character and emotion into each of his songs, not just this one. The first guy was too mellow (sort of boring). The last guy was just screaming and you could hardly make out what he was singing. I guess if you like really heavy metal and don't care if you understand what they're singing and just like screaming, then you'd go with the last guy. They all put in the work, but Dan's was the ABSOLUTE BEST! (I think you were a little partial toward the last guy and didn't really care how the first two sounded. You might have already made up your mind before listening to them because you didn't know the other two...)
Just seeing this video now, my vote goes to Dan Vasc. He is my favorite artist right now. Skar is too metal for my liking. Matt was good, but I gotta go with Dan.

For me it's Dan, but you know that's a matter of taste, some people think one thing is crazy and another thinks the other is really crazy. It wouldn't be good if we all liked the same music :)
I am a Dan Vasc fan, his expression in conjunction with the music make it great, but I must give kudos to Skar as well, great complete metal version, and will definitely listen to that one as well, although my first choice is Dan, maybe it is that my best years was the 80's and he reminds me of some of the greats in that era, but that is how it is, the persons loving Skar's version, respect to you, it is what it is, no 2 persons are the same.
Skar is awesome, every version of each game music that he mades impress me, of course Dan made a great cover too, and if you like both you need to check out The Hobbit - Misty Mountains cover, made by Skar and Dan together. Matt is just Matt, i don't have much to say about, he made a great accoustic cover too, but for me is Skar.

It’s Dan all the way. The other two couldn’t come close to him. His vocal range is beyond compare, he grabs you emotionally. A skilled and talented man who really can tell the story with his voice I listened to the first guy all the way thru but was ready to move on from him a long before he was done. The third guy was too heavy metal. No pull, no emotion. And, it was obvious you had already made up your mind. Your intro comments were biased.
Dan's version is the best; Star's is second best; Matt's is too flat, like the original, and I like Joey on the show. My other favourite version is by Gabriel Belozi, a friend of Dan's and a damn fine guitarist. Overall, a cool reaction video. Dan and Skar are both great; Matt has a good voice, but the style was too similar to the show's, which was boring.
He is the one who's kidding with it, especially by putting extremely high notes everywhere lol. It's impressive, don't take me wrong, but way too overused what makes it dull to listen to. And production is meh + arrangement is straightforward compared to Skar. He just did it kinda what right to do, but not hard and new, bruh

Dan got a nice voice, but for me it's nothing but that. I got no feelings from Dan's cover(s). And objectively Dan's cover here is the weakest if we talk about emotions, not epicness or "coolness" of power/folk metal

Personally Song 1) best clean voice Song 2) actually felt like a break up song showing the "feelings" of dandalion the best Song 3) best arrangement, the way the song is integrated is awesome
Speaking of butcher's, I wish someone other than Netflix would have made the show adaptation or Netflix should have just done separate show. Because the only similarity to the game universe is that he has white hair. Otherwise they just took a massive steaming dump on the series. Like changing the logo? Really? Then all the characters look and act completely different and don't have any similarities to the game versions of themselves. Fuck Netflix.
