@@Jasmin-rn6vxwhat are y’all even talking bout seriously. Like if you really want to have a conversation or look up some things as far as what African Americans have contributed society at large , from educational value , buying power ( that’s all the capitalist care about ) , the BEAUTY of the plight of people who been thru something even more devastating then genoicide, CAN STILL DANCE AND HAVE THEIRE SPIRIT. Let me say this I don’t know a lot about this but I do know African American ancestors before they were slaves and even during that heinous time THEY DANCED EVEN THO THEY WAS SUFFERING. all these jokes about black peoples liking chicken comes from PEOPLE HAVING TO ADAPT TO ALL THEY HAD. I really get sad when I think about how being IGNORANT + APATHY mixed together breeds a very interesting POV : twerking , wigs and weaves , ghetto , too masculine for a woman , black boys are seen as men before they become a man. Trying to boil down a whole culture itself is NUANCED. All these words I wrote all I’m trying to say is yes African American have culture , sadly I HAVE HEARD THIS STATEMENT ALOT FROM AFRICANS THEN I EVER HEARD FROM LETS SAY “ the us usual suspects “white liberals “ or racist people. IT HITS HARD BECAUSE ALOT OF US HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE TO THAT AFRICANS THINK AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE DIFFERENT, THAT THEY HAVE MORALS ETC AS IF AFRICAN AMERICANS DONT. I KNOW THERES IS ALWAYS MORE THAN ONE PERSPECTIVE BUT IF ANYONE IS TALKING BOUT UNITY , HOW THE HELL CAN U SPEAK UP SEPARATION IN THE FIRST PLACE. Makes me sad a lot of people not only see the beauty and even the uglyness within the African American culture , BUT THEY ALSO DISREGARD every POSTIVE aspect of culture and use it as they please. Imagine cashing in on a culture u don’t understand or care to or criticize but the very reason ur successful besides your hard work is THE FACT U WAS ABLE TO APPEAL TO THE AFRICAN AMERICAN MASSES WITH THE VERY THING THAT IS CULUTALLY Tied To African Americans. As a Black American and a fan of Burna Boy, it was disheartening to hear his views on our culture, especially considering that his entire style draws inspiration from artists like Treach from Naughty By Nature and DMX - his own words. I vividly recall my excitement flying to Portugal for Afro Nation, where I became a huge fan not only of Burna Boy but also of the Afrobeat and Amapiano genres. If only Fela Kuti were still with us to enlighten individuals like him about the true origins and inspirations behind Afrobeat. It’s essential for these artists to recognize that Black Americans are the originators and true essence of the culture they seek to emulate and profit from. It’s time for them to show respect, pay homage, and learn from the rich heritage and contributions of past and present generations of African Americans.

It was beat out of us it was indoctrinated out of us and even on our worst day the world will want to be us because there’s something about us that nobody understands not even us. We’re chosen. We disobeyed the one true God and we have to pay the price. Deuteronomy 26-31…our sons and daughters are the most beautiful precious people to us and only love can save us from us. Plus I love me some OLUWABURNA❤❤❤Africa is our motherland and we were sold stolen and everything else and ended to on these shores. Most of our knowledge didn’t make it because the Sybil’s or the oracles jumped into the ocean before they were going to allow the brutality they knew was coming happen to them. But if not he should explain himself more clearly to show he wants everyone to be together. And if he didn't say that, he should plainly say that he didn't say that. But to all black people, let's put the blame on who caused us all to be chaotic to each other ( certain some white people). From slavery to colonization to tricking us and to putting us against each other. And it's going on today in different ways. But then also we are all mixed up cause some freed slaves were taken back to Africa and mixed in with the natives etc.

@subnx4763 Suuuuure. When can you give me a historical reference for the dress, slang, etc. Then talk to me. You bite off the West and then trash their culture's. Clowns

Most foreigners don't realize that we lost our culture when we were sent over on slave ships. Americans do lack culture and tradition. We have taken on the habits of this 1st world country and took on chitlinz, fried chicken, timbs and lack true rooted connect with ourselves and ancestors beyond the slave trade trauma. He is not wrong in what he initially said.

Come on with that weak ideology. We were stripped, robbed, and anything else wicked you can dream of but oh at us, still trendsetting, still rising, and everyone on this planet even they want to be like us.

Most black foreigners you meet come from slavery as well. Caribbean and South Americans. They lost stuff too. Do ur homework

He is wrong even though we made our culture out of pain, it's ours. Also a lot of other people follow it too and it has changed a lot in the world. Our pain opened doors for a lot of people.

I am sorry but after 700 years you cannot say we do not have our own distinct cultures (in the colonies) which only derives from them but is also influenced by European, Asian cultures this is pure ignorance!

Black Americans come from a state of lost cultural awareness. Burna is saying he's willing to teach the African culture to his brothers overseas. I grew up in a Trini 🇹🇹 household where I understand my culture and Caribbean culture is closer to African culture but still separate.

What is teaching African culture going to do for black americans? They have their own culture completely separate from African cultures. Black americans created and innovated most institutions out of all black/African groups.

@@jayjones251 It's going to bridge the gap that some African-Americans have created between themselves and Africa. Also influence them to do a DNA test to find out what region in Africa do they originate from. Ludacris and Erykah Badu did that and found out that they are from the Gabon region. They were immediately given Gabon passports and citizenship. BLACK PEOPLE MUST UNITE.🤎

So… Caribbeans don’t suffer that same loss of culture awareness as descendants of slaves?
