@Miss-Ann-Thrope
@Miss-Ann-Thrope Месяц назад
@spokenliar5909, None of those are new conditions created by Black culture. Most of those thing exist AROUND THE WORLD in some forms. English is not spoken around the world. All Africans descendants, who had enslavers from the U.K., speak a combination of the enslavers English and their enslaved African ancestors translation of a language that was foreign and beaten into them. Oddly enough, even the "broken English" and AAVE is COPIED outside of the U.S. Our AFRICAN ANCESTORS came here in braids and we retained that part of our African culture. Braids were used as maps for escaping enslaved African descendants. Clearly, you have not been any further than where you live, nor do you read books or use the internet for research. Both are a low cost panacea for ignorance. On the other hand, stupidity is a choice that one makes to remain in spite of available facts.

Did you know the first U.S . school shooter was a teenaged white girl? She shot up the elementary school across the street from her house because it was Monday. To debunk this misconception, let's clarify that African culture encompasses various elements such as music, language, religion, art, literature, food, and social norms. Specifically, genres like jazz and hip hop, African American Vernacular English (AAVE), activism, fashion trends, and community norms are aspects of African American culture that have significantly impacted global culture. As an African in the diaspora I respect the African American culture, especially the music, food & activism

The problem is the black Americans have refused to acknowledge the new force driving out their culture and changing history. It is sad that truth is always received with negative energy among black Americans. The black Americans are not moving forward. Africans are slowly getting better than black Americans. The ignorance of outsiders is insane! They can see their own "culture" even by tribe but can't see the cultural delineations of Americans when they get here because they indulge in the commercialized aspects of Black American culture. Do Asian-Americans have culture? Do Mexican-Americans have culture? Italian-Americans? Black American cultural traditions are not only documented but regionally diverse, and integrated into our everyday.

To the point of black American saying crazy stuff all the time that may be true, but a lot of these people who get famous wouldn't be famous unless black Americans support them so at the end of the day, we may say what we say but but we keep it 100 with people that look like us. Even in this video he still bigged Kai up for the platform that he has while giving criticism that's well-deserved. I'm a Black British born and raised guy with both parents being born in Jamaica. I now live in the Netherlands. I rarely come across Black Americans in my life since there aren't many in the UK and virtually none here in the Netherlands. I see Black Americans as a 'sister' people - not just because we share a similar history, but also because we are English speaking blacks who live in an overwhelmingly white society. I do not have an agenda with US Blacks, simply because I never lived with them. I like to approach people to say hello in appropriate circumstances, to people, However, at this point in my life I will never ever approach an US black person again. Never. Most of the times I have done so, I get a crazy, negative, angry, disgusting reaction from them - both the male and female. The final and last time I did so, I wanted to wish an older US woman happy new year at a bar in at a resort in Mexico. Good God, the reaction I got was chilling...so much so, I felt compelled to just walk away. I had a similar reaction from a black guy from New York when I was in Helsinki, Finland. I really cannot say what what goes in their minds, but from my point of view, it is as if the see another black person as a physical danger. This is something I am not used to and it is something I will avoid by simply avoiding US blacks. Today, I will make initial enquiries for a holiday/vacation at a resort in Jamaica for November 2024. I'm planning to go with a cousin and a good friend, also of Jamaican heritage living in the Netherlands. I am going to tell them, you want a quality break/rest/good time just keep away from Black Americans.

When an African says culture we mean first identity so like from ethnic group then tribe then clan. 2, then rites of passage like naming ceremony rites, puberty rites, marriage ceremony rites, funeral rites 3, family structure, man being the head of the house, wife then children, and the extended family structure, when we say family it means extended family the whole clan 4, religion and traditions local rulers and systems 5, language 6, Art,clothing, literature,music 7, food From an Africans perspective black Americans have a culture but isnt as deep as we do but its no fault of theirs though, as to whether its a positive culture or not is another discussion all together but most of the time when Africans are saying you dont have a culture they maybe thinking positive culture something you can actively pass on to younger generation. I dont think that when anyone says this (including Kai) they mean that FBA, dont have culture. Most people recognize the richness in FBA culture. However, when the conversion goes into how connected FBA are to their roots, most either arent at all, or are working their way towards it. Living in the US, as a non-white person, theres alot of assimilation that most non- white people do to survive & we all know how long FBA has had to do that (mostly out of obvious horrible historical circumstances). Black people in the Caribbean & in africa are the majority in their countries, so although colonization & imperialism has affected the whole diaspora in very similar ways, there's also many differences & that's where the discord & disconnect comes from.

You being born in a particular place doesn’t necessarily restrict your core identity to said place. The whole thing is nuanced and a social construct. I am of my bloodline and family however my passport says something else because my dad’s nationality is so, even though he is a full blooded African same as my mum. I grew up in the UK but have never identified as British. I am who I am because of the character values I learn and act on based on the culture I am from. Which is an African culture. So being “born in America” doesn’t mean yeah he’s American. On paper yes but it’s more than that depending on your family and environment.

Hip Hop started with the Black Spades in 1971 in😊 the Bronx. The Black Spades were all Black Americans. Yes, 3 yrs later, Kool Herc and other immigrants made contributions to Hip Hop, just as the rest of the world ha, but the origins of Hip Hop are solely Black American. Malcolm X 100% exists without Marcus Garvey, but Garvey doesn't exist if Jamaicans don't kick his movement out of the country and Garvey is forced to move to Harlem. Harlem/Black Americans kicked off Marcus Garvey's movement, because Jamaicans were too timid to make his movement happen.

@@AlexGarris Sure. What's strange about this, is it reveals a critical lack of understanding of the complex nature of black culture (as a whole and its subgroups) in America. You do understand that there is such a things as cultural diffusion, correct? That modern black American culture in various parts of the country, specifically those areas with large historical immigrant populations (as you mentioned, The Bronx), would more accurately be characterized as a "melting pot". The black American culture that you speak of (ironically, the worst subgroups of black culture that you bring up), is not exclusively "American descendant of slaves" culture. That's an emotional reading of history. Study cultural diffusion. Is the culture in Little Italy, Italian or American? A quick glance at history would show that the contributions of immigrant blacks, is foundational to black American advancement. One could argue that are immigrant blacks overrepresented in their contributions towards black American advancement. Clearly, Kai is ignorant and lacks a degree of sophistication, especially when it comes to these topics. He seems to be conflating "foreign/immigrant" with "having culture", since it's different from the larger culture. The same way people claim white Americans have no culture. What's strange about all of this, is this sort of grievance tends to be "class coded". Typically, it's unsophisticated individuals who find themselves mired in these petty arguments, as indicated by the usual participants of these discussions, and the direction the argument takes. The unsophisticated immigrant will ignorantly criticize blacks as having no culture, because they're too foolish to understand how culture works. And the unsophisticated black American will immediately defend the existence of black culture by bring up Hip Hop and ghetto culture.
