Highlights from the burning of Zozobra, a 50 foot tall paper bogeyman symbolizing the gloom from the previous year. Zozobra is the world's tallest marionette complete with glowing eyes and moving arms. People bring items to burn inside Zozobra symbolizing gloom in their lives, including tax returns, divorce papers, wedding dresses, written lists, etc. This annual pyrotechnic event is held every year in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
