The 99th Burning of Will Shuster’s Zozobra!!
Taken September 1, 2023 at Fort Marcy Park in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico.
For those of you who are new or unfamiliar:
Zozobra is a giant 50 foot marionette puppet that symbolizes all the bad things from the past year. All those worries manifest into a grumpy old man. By burning him, you’re erasing all your sadness and worries from the past year so that way everyone can be happy for Fiesta Season. The Fiestas are when the city of Santa Fe celebrates when it was reconquered by the Spaniards back in 1712. Viva Las Fiestas!!
