My parents owned a 72 Vista Cruiser just like this but it was a light yellow color same wood grain and everything, I don't think ours had the vinyl top either. My father worked at GM and got it as an employee purchase of a company asset, it was a company owned vehicle that someone drove who got a company car as a benefit of their job. They would see those to employees when they had around 3000 miles on them. My mom picked it up right in Lansing where it was built and Oldsmobiles HQ was up there back in the day. That car was loaded and had the 455, I was just a small kid but my mother said that would pass anyone. My father usually picked cars with great economy, If he had ordered the Vista Cruiser it would have been this car in the video with a 350 and crank windows. Anyhow, great video it was surprising how that lights off the tires so well being a wagon and not the larger engine !

My parents had a '68 Vista Cruiser with those same colors. If I remember right, the greenish gold color was called willow gold. I had to parallel park that beast to get my drivers license.

@@christianbugatticg Amen ! Cristian it's often said, but they were the good old days just picture a car like that today no computers, no relays, if you want on a long trip... All you needed a carry in that storage bin and the side in the back. Was a pair of pliers, screwdriver and some duct tape to patch a hose and some spare oil antifreeze and a couple of the fan Belts!! Of course a spare tire & a jack and motoring in a nice old station wagon like that was free of stress because if something happens you could fix it yourself, and get back on the road... We broke down in the middle of the Mojave desert heading towards California and still had a great vacation!. The good old days indeed!

You just can't go wrong with an Oldsmobile! Ive owned so many over the years. The 350 is Bulletproof. I currently own a1978 Delta with the 350. Its on par with any Cadillac I've owned from the same time. Chris thank you for another great video.

That brings back memories. True survivor. My parents had several of the station wagons while I was growing up. 66 Buick Skylark, 68 Pontiac and the best was the 68 Olds Vista Cruiser with the 400-4BBL. That thing would fly.

You guys in America were so lucky to have these super comfortable smooth quiet cars in the 70s if we had to buy anything close to this refinement and power in the UK it would have simply have been very expensive to do so ..plus the price of fuel here restricted us to smaller cars with smaller engines

Love, love, love it! Beautiful colors and condition. My favorite thing is the vent windows (who needs a/c with them)? I believe I saw one of those horrid antennas embedded into the windshield. If so, that may be the problem with the radio (they were worthless). Almost anyone over 40 has fond memories of station wagons. Lord knows I have owned many and still love them. They have a style no SUV could ever match except maybe a 1980s Grand Wagoneer. Sadly, many were work horses and so few survived intact. Thanks for putting a smile on this old man's face. I hope it sells for a small fortune...

Is there a drag strip near your location? If so, you might add a trip down the quarter to the video presentation. Hammering it off the line without rods clanking or piston slap would be an excellent sales point.

Took the time to wire-in a new rear window switch under the dash but couldn't spend the time to replace the factory one? Also the radio probably needs an antenna hooked up. Neither is very difficult to do in these era cars.
