This is a best example for those fan's who's too obsessed with their fav, and dream about going to korea in hopes of meeting them. It's okay to like or defend your idol. But not when they've done something wrong, who knows that some of the idols are just same as seungri. And not at all innocent that we think they're. I am also an k-pop fan, I follow my idols and love them, respect them, care about them. But if (I hope never) they ever get involved in something like this... South Korea's judiciary system is weird. They take great actions against people who do weed and will treat them like they ended their bloodline but won't show much care for literal r*pists and ped*philes who have committed much more heinous crimes. Recently Yong Junhyung was forgiven for his crimes and was let out of the prison, and he was someone who was involved with this scandal and even admitted to taking non-consensual s*xual videos which he had spread in groupchats. He is not just a suspect, but someone who is actually guilty for the crime, but see. He is out of prison and already dating Hyuna who is a well known K-pop soloist herself. Unbelievable. That country only believes that dr*g users and people who smoke are true criminals who deserves to be sent in jail forever because k-netizens will loose their sleep over a grown man and woman smoking but otherwise it's crickets from them.

As a BTS army, I had to educate myself on the K-pop industry, idols, and how things work. The Burning Sun Scandal was a huge scandal in South Korea, fans of the group Big Bang (known as VIPs) and other K-pop fans were shocked however some VIPs asked for shorter sentences for Seungri and defended him(even now, you will still find some fans defending him) since he was their idol, you will be able to find tweets, articles, petitions alike on how people supported Seungri even after his involvement in a heinous crime and asked the government to forgive him. This brings me to the most important part, many times as fans, people forget that their idols are humans, which means they aren't flawless, to turn a blind eye to whatever your idol does is horrible. People irrespective of their status, if have committed a crime should be held accountable for their actions. Seungri is an adult who he knew exactly what he was doing and how wrong the situation was and still chose to continue doing it, blatantly lying about his involvement in this case. Edit - the other actos/celebrities involved in this case also had fans defending them

I was disgusted when this scandal happened. And i was more disgusted on their fans who were so blind and they shamelessly bashed others who were talking against them. Law in every country is always in favour for rich people. Look at seungri now. He literary went on clubbing after getting released. Noone gave justice to those victims honestly. I wish there were people like "Taxi Driver" series who took revenge for those victims. This drama alone gave some imaginary Justice to those victims which their law didn’t. Korean laws are specially very bizarre.
In Taxi Driver S2, this whole story was same as in the real life and many other stories in this drama r true. I appreciate you for your efforts. I didn't know this was an actual case till . I also follow all the criminal cases from korea and this was not surprising to me but still shocking.

I just finished watching a kdrama named "Taxi driver", i mean its second season and I'm shocked to see that they also gave us hints in that drama about this case. There was a club in the series "Black Sun" which is so similar to "Burning Sun" and also the people(who are elite they also mentioned a kpop idol)in that club used to harass girls and drugs them to take advantage of them, in the drama there was a scene where a person reports about minors entering the club, the police arrested the person who reported and even beats him. I'm so surprised to see the similarity of this case with that series.

Oh i was a big fan of big bang but when i got to know about Seungri deeds i was shocked but also extremely angry. And i was not one of those blind fans who supported him even with all the evidence. Later I heard that he was framed and was used as a pawn by more powerful higher above people but still i am not sure what was true and not. It was also commendable that such a big celeb got behind bars because in India, celebs like Sanjay Datt & Salman Khan who are clearly criminals still roam freely.

I have already seen this on Rotten Mango but damn, an indian channel covering this. Good job! And yeah, it's not about being hurt and praying idols we stan don't do something like this. They're grown men and women, fully capable of realising doing SA, drunk driving, running trafficking ring is downright evil. I have seen some fans still support seungri which is disgusting like how blind anyone can be, and some non-fans tag remaining bb members also as criminals, which is also so wrong as other members are really very talented. I have been listening to Korean songs for 5 years, but was never into any grp as I used to like only a couple of songs from each grp, that changed last year when I came across bigbang, every song of theirs is gold like they made music for me(all songs were produced by gd) and I can see why they were famous as they influenced kpop a lot in those day, but after this scandal if a new person hears about bb they think about the scandal and not their talent, accomplishments or influence they had, as a fan it is very disheartening. that damn person really ruined a talented grps image.
