All car sounds in Burnout Paradise 1.0 are equally impressive even 16 years after its initial release!

Upon some investigation it seems that the update that introduced bikes somehow messed with the sound mixing in a way that either swapped the engine/exhaust sounds around or required Criterion to do so, as well as breaking the overall sound volume, which is why re-enabling any of the unused engine sounds on any pc version makes them incredibly quiet as they had not been edited since before the game's initial release

I give you my utmost respect for making this video. 1.0 had the best car sounds than what the later updates did to them. Edit: Oh, and both the Inferno Van and Hot Rod Coupe are my outright favorites. The startup sounds for the Grand Marais and Racing Oval Champ are very different. I prefer the latter’s over the current version that is literally just a copy-and-paste of the Hot Rod Coupe’s, and the former’s current version fits much better.

For me my favourites in Burnout Paradise were: Montgomery GT 2400, KRIEGER F1 WTR, UBERSCHALL 8, and Carson Inferno Van (BEST CAR FOR MARKED MAN SURVIVAL RACE).

The Carson Thunder sounds completely different sharing its sound with NFS Carbon's '67 Camaro, Chevelle, and '67 GT500. The Rossolini LM was made bassier, the Krieger 616 Sport sounds much more aggressive, the Kitano Touge hissier (?), and the Krieger Uberschall's way too quiet and not deep enough

The Cavalry and Thunder Custom sound so amazing, holy lord... I mean pretty much all of them do, but those two are probably my favorites.

I admit that I like the remastered version a lot What I didn't like about the update was when they changed the engine to the Hansen P12 car, it sounded very loud before and the engine did roar. now you can't hear it before, now you hear it sharp The Carson Thunder engine is the same as the NFS Carbon from chevrolet chevelle SS

The Uberschall 8 in Burnout Paradise sounded like a mix of Toyota GT ONE and Audi abt TT-R DTM.

I don’t like this version of the game getting put on a pedestal as superior in every way when the remaster has so much more content I’d rather have that content and the quality of life features that the remaster provides and trade off the slightly - and I mean *slightly* better crash physics and engine sounds

On PC you can only use emulator to get the 1.0 version

You have to downgrade the PS3 version by deleting the Game Data Utility and then clicking circle when it tells you about the 1.9 update.

But only fractionally since updates also toned down the stats for majority of the cars but has some DLC cars like the Montgomery Hawker (Switchable Boost Type Car).

The updates ruined some aspects of the game, the most notable one being the Citizen instantly dying with no driveaways whatsoever.
