A burnout isn't a proper burnout game unless you can ram another car off the road and have it crush into a tree so hard it bends the literal engine block.
The soundtrack. The soundtrack makes the game for me. The Burnout Paradise soundtrack is unbeatable, literally ALL the hundred songs in the game are bangers. It scares me they are gonna put mumble rap shit in it.
I kind of enjoyed crash cam in Paradise. It was annoying in Most Wanted, when there was almost no damage on the car, but in paradise watching your car crumbling in slowmo against the wall was just satisfying. If they can get damage system even better than that in the new game, that would be awesome.
I think in Paradise, the reason people don't mind the crash cam is because (not online) it actually slows down the AI racers somehow, so it doesn't feel like the race is lost after a single crash. And of course watching your car crumple like a tin can
Bro it took too long by the time you got back in the race you were losing by a mile because of the dumb crash cam you should be allowed to have a skip button altogether after so many times of watching the car crumble it gets old especially if you’re trying to grind for money to get more cars come on bro that gets annoying 😭😭😭
@@hfjdeI actually like it, because it's long enough to give you a moment to prepare for getting back into the driving, but also short enough to not bore you. I wouldn't change them a bit, as long as they don't change how speed feels, as they both play perfectly, breakneck speeds and neck-breaking stops. When really immersed into the speed of Paradise for example (especially in quicker cars like the WTR or the Überschall!), it literally takes all control and rips you out of this feeling as if you were to actually hit a brick wall, with particles, sounds, muted music, slo-mo shots, pedestrian height camera angles and even your wheels still, spinning despite standing still, intensifying this feeling even further. And the time the game takes to show you all this manages always to show the full crash and leave just enough for you to say "Alright, lets go again"
Mannn, A Burnout Reboot would shake the gaming community up. I would welcome it with open arms I miss it so much. If it is a burnout game they have to nail it tho. Ya know? Bigger Crash events. better Races. Customized Cars maybe? Like wheels or paint nothing too crazy. AND BY GOD THEY NEED TO BRING BACK CRASH FM.
I want a back and forth collab on Crash FM between DJ Stryker and DJ Atomika for the new game if it is true and coming, Stryker and Atomika would pair really well together. I normally don't place my hopes too high for newer games, but Burnout is an exception because it was mah childhood lol
I mean in all honesty he essentially is. This man adds so much padding to his videos to say so little. I can't be entirely mad at him for it because he's literally getting paid for it. I understand he has incentive but Goddamn, sometimes I wish he would say less.
That’s exactly what they should do the races can be separate from the open world. It should be a playlist someone can just start up in a interaction menu and everyone in the lobby, in your friends list or in a nearby server or that’s looking for a race. Will all be able to see and join your race. Then it takes you to a completely different map separate from the open world. They can have a few races from the open world like long highways like old Burnout games. These races will all be races created by the shaming studio designed for Burnout racing. That’s exactly how I would do a modern day Burnout game. The open world would be like a GTA map where it’s realistic to it’s real life location but everything is destructible. You can let people see your house to be able to look in your garage of cars. Have car meets and, cruise, race and do pinkslip races point to point instant betting in the open world. Then you could get money for doing stunts and challenges in the open world like GTA does with random destruction challenges. It can be a side mode and open world random challenge even though Burnout did it first with crash mode it can be in the open world too. By blowing up cars to collect damage payments whoever does the most pedestrian car damage gets $50K. So Pedestrians will be able to be hit and fly into the air saying goofy things to players. Especially since they don’t have to use real car licenses we can have goofy fun violence in the game.
If Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry aren't involved, I don't know how good it could be. They created and produced EVERY Burnout game made, but currently they are developing Wreckreation. Take the time to remember it's the people behind the game, not just the studio!
We definitely need a burnout reboot or continue the legacy. I’m done with the “realistic” racing games. I want an arcade racing game with amazing rock and heavy rock soundtracks. No stupid rap
I still cant forget the days when I used to play Burnout Paradise even during my exam days...coming home from school after an exam and spending a couple hours in the game. Memories ❤😢❤
I'll believe it when i see it. Do note the Burnout IP is still owned by EA. Which means Stellar Entertainment will likely make a spiritual successor of Burnout and be their own publisher.
5:50 crash mode in paradise would have totally been possible, and this is far from why. I'm guessing they may have just wanted to try something different. And honestly, i like it. Ive heard a surprisingly large amount of people say that they also liked it and found it addictive.
That’s what I’m saying it definitely would work in the open world just go look at GTA you do it in the open world by I would have it as a random money challenge and gave it as a separate playlist you can start up while cruising in the open world you can just join a crash race event and it can be separate maps from the open world mixed with designated areas perfect for crash mode in the open world that’s developers already came into the game with that in mind
I hope the next game has a hybrid of events from paradise and the first 4, where there's closed circuit races with arrows and barriers but also races that slow you to find your own path
Controversial opinion: Paradise is not a real Burnout game and should only be regarded as a spin-off. The open world was cool novelty at the time of its release, but it ultimately diluted the action with other racers and made events tedious and boring, especially in single player.
burnout paradise was my favorite open world in any racing game. it was perfectly interwoven and gave you so much freedom to take whatever route, it was unlike any nfs or anything i'd played before and it was mind blowing! also fuck yea im so hyped its gonna be Unreal Engine cause that means we're finally getting a proper potentially open world arcade racing game playable in VR, with the UEVR injector. modded, yes, but hey, i'll take it! i cant fucking wait to drive and crash in VR
This might be the most anticipated racing franchise return! Also! Burnout shared a lot of music tracks with SSX. Just sayin' DO! THE! D1MN! SSX! REMAKE!
Burnout 2 was my favorite as well because of the crash mode. I left a comment about it on Neilogicals latest video of Motorstorm. If Burnout comes back and doesn't have crash mode it will go in the bin just as NFS Unbound did with it's cartoonish kiddie bullcrap. I would have a Nintendo and MarioCart if I wanted a kids racing game
Afaik there is a crash mode in Burnout Paradise. I think it was L1 and R1 while not in a Event (should also be usable when you get a crash cam). There are Highscores for crashes on every road aswell
Burnout made my childhood and I pray for it's return, just dont want it to be full of microtransactions and all that bull. Burnout Revenge will always be my favourite racer of all time ❤😢
Unless it's event based like 3, revenge and dominator then I'm not interested. Paradise wasn't as good as people seem to remember. Open world and burnout just didn't mix.
my biggest problem was the lack of progression (aside from unlocking cars), i also think if they gonna do antoher open world Burnout game, they should have checkpoints in races
My favourite game is paradise, but the regular races just aren't fun in paradise, however the other events are really fun and I think work best in open world.
I just got around to playing Takedown for the first time in years since I had a PS2. Went back and played all the other ones I never got to, and man.. if this is the case, do a slight remaster of the first ones, all jankiness aside, I agree I like the linear style with barriers alot more, I wasn't to big of a fan of Paradise BECAUSE of the open world, felt like I got lost just driving around sometimes. But even remasters maybe even up to Revenge. But who knows, I know I'd have a blast with this
Burnout is way more then the crashing though I hope they get it right We need solid arcade car combat, emo girls Playlist as the soundtrack (as always ) , and like goofy fake cars that embrace the absurdity
Brake to drift isn't inherently bad, which is basically the handling model burnout had for its entirety. Brake-to-drift at 300 km/h over a 90 degree wide bend and hitting the wall to straight up the car trajectory is fun. Brake-to-drift at 80 km/h over a 90 degree tight bend and crashing out with the slightest touch of the wall, on the other hand, is called modern-day need for speed handling.
Burnout paradise may have been open world, but in a sense it was a closed track system that you got to choose your own path. Taking shortcuts you found in free ride and even while different roads if a racer bashed you the wrong way. It was open world racing, but the goal was simple, get to the finish and survive doing it. Eventually you found the best way to finish and it became your track. Also, the damage on the cars was awesome. Hitting your front would destroy the front and sliding on your top could allow you to drive with it crushed if you got a drive away. Hell, you could drive with your doors broken off and your hood up as you realize you can brake to close the hood again. It was a very physically satisfying system that just made you scream, “Yes!” And the crash cams…I noticed over the years I have grown more impatient was crashing, losing, waiting in games. But Paradise gave me this vibe of “majestic” when it came to the crashes. They can be a bit frustrating it free ride because that’s when they take longer, but to barrel into 5 cars and then slam a way and somehow have a drive away? That was half the fun of it. Just the arcade insanity. And it’s not even that bad because when you enter a race or event the crash time is cut so much so you can get back to the race. But imagine the mechanics of paradise, the closed tracks of 2, 3, and 4, and some kind of citizen?? We could have an actual need for speed killer as far as gameplay goes. And we technically have cops in burnout in game modes so what’s keeping them from turning the marked man into hot pursuits? They basically are just cops
Bro I would probably cry if we get a return to the Burnout 3: Takedown era. I have such fond memories of that game and I’ve been thinking about buying a PS2 just so I can play it again 😭
Hey um I just realized…the marked man cars are just cop chases without lights. And they are BRUTAL. so what’s keeping them from adding legit cop AI to burnout?
I'm gonna say it... hated Paradise. It killed the franchise for me. It's horrible to have to look at the top of the screen for a flashing sign to give you a clue on a split-second turn you have to make or you're completely hosed and out of the race. And when you messed up, you had to limp back to the start of the race, because you couldn't start shite from a menu. Just horrible. Destroyed the rhythm that was perfected in Revenge X360. I hated Paradise and told my former boss (the designer of Paradise) such, when we worked together.
Burnout 3 is my favourite game of all time. I would be SO HAPPY for it to not be open world. It's not needed. Unless they are mini open worlds based on the track. With car meets say on a corner for drifting. I really hope they remake burnout. I've been commenting that for years
If Burnout and OutRun are back but Ridge Racer still isn't, I won't buy a Namco game. But I think Burnout, OutRun have a high chance of coming out differently than Ridge Racer. There was OutRun 2 at British Racing Greats 2023, and Lizardcube tweeted about OutRun. Namco is trying to erase Ridge Racer's history, Harada asks SEGA where the VF6 is, but they ignore it, saying they can't make Ridge Racer. For god's sake, Ridge Racer's rival, Cruis'n, Hot Wheels racing game, LEGO racing game, F-Zero, and even Top Gear (Top Racer in Japan), Crazy Taxi are back.
UE5, is it ok??? I head that WRC 2023 has sone major perfomance issues. Optimization I mean. I like Unrea but problem is it's a heavy engine. If you don't optimize it enough, it's basixally crap. Frisbite on the other hand, it delivers good in both nfs and other EA titles like dead space. I didn't really like when Codies said that WRC was gonna be on Unreal 5 and now it's not diffrent. So yeah, my main concern for this new stella AAA game, but keep in mind it could also not be Burnout related but just another racing game completely
as much as iam excited about the idea triple A games have been nothing but a rushed let down please can they just finish burnout and dont release it till its fully tested/finished ALSO NO MICROTRANSACTIONS SICK OF THAT
Arcade racing scene is extremely thin at the moment. I'm so glad to see a new game introduced, however if publisher or high level studio execs rush the project, it's useless. It will be similar to BF 2042. I was interested in Unbound, but after having played good F2P games where all content is time/skill lock only, was kinda dissapointed at P2W tactics practiced.
What I want: - No open world (if they insist on making it open world, I want more variety in the scenery, checkpoints in races, etc) - proper damage & better physics - more memorable tracks - Crash Aftertouch - a proper crash mode like it was in 3 & Revenge - gold, silver & bronze trophies - maybe a points system again
I really hope that if it's a real Burnout Game, I really wish its a more improved Burnout Revenge... Nostalgic game that actually brings aggression with racing with your cars as your weapon, crashes so extreme that it'll potentially break your sound system/ earphones. Boost engage sounds that pushed the car from respawn to top speed in seconds, instantly back to action!!!
I'm sorry theo but if you want a reboot of most wanted 2012 you're on crack. MW2012 was horrible shitty boring multiplayer mess. I for definitely don't a remaster or reboot of that crap when it's one of the worst nfs ever imo along with rivals, shift, the run and payback. There are way way better nfs games to get a remaster of.
If we do get a new Burnout then I need it to be closed track again Paradise felt really bland and forgettable cause of the open world setting Closed track allows for more location variety and more memorable moments
This got me thinking since Theo mentioned Need For Speed, what if EA took something fron every NEED FOR SPEED so far,and mashed it all together into one game 😂❤
Burnout 3 takedown was the best one imo. Just perfected everything from the first two and made it better and then the cherry on top was online mode and my first ever experience with online gameplay. Funnily enough 4 of us with ps2's in the same house. I was mind blown 😂
If there is a new Burnout like a reboot, they have to do it like in the ps2 era, closed circuit on different continent, countries, keep the crash mode, for takedowns, maybe add new stuff in like destroying structure that stops or crash the opponents, keep unlicenced car, so we can have those beautiful damages and of course the soundtrack should be like the genre we had in those older Burnouts games, Paradise included, nothing like we had in Unbound🤣 And also important the physics must be like those games too, sliding fast in corners is just so much fun
I just hope they will use Takedown 3 as a base instead of paradise, though i still did like paradise and it's style, it just doesn't compare to the feeling Takedown 3 gives, specially the theming, not just some black menus with letters like recently
If there's a new burnout I hope it's not gonna be open world and focus on closed tracks racing, even though Paradise is my fav making a good open world is hard especially with a smaller team
battlefield is the big one??? does he know that battlefield died like any other ea game? because ea did the classic ea thing. battlefield is dead. need for speed is dead. sim city is dead. skate is dead. tell me one single reason why burnout under EA will be anything other than those other games? why burnout will not die like all the other games? if somebody likes burnout then its me. and i really hope it will be great, and i hopoe it really happens. but the trend shows something else to be honest...
What made Burnout the best for me was that crashing your car wasn't seen as a setback or a penalty, but rather a *_key feature_* of the franchise. That said, I'd be more than happy to see the series rise from the ashes, especially if it means we get new roads to tear up, new cars to smash to pieces, and new rivalries to ignite.
hey Theo, i saw an article on TDU SC a week back that we could expect it late March, Early April this year, do a video about it, i can't find the article to show you
I'm definitely looking at Wreckreation with cautious optimism. Dangerous Driving was more or less exactly like Burnout 2.5 (as in borrowing elements of the best of Burnouts 2 & 3), but even with the core of the then-Criterion team that worked on those games (including Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward), they only had but a fraction of the budget, and you can tell that Dangerous Driving is just missing that little bit of magic that made the original games so great.
I grew up playing the hell out of burnout 3 with my dad before he passed away early in my life. I would love to see burnout come back so I can one day relive those memories and maybe one day have kids so they can enjoy what I did as a kid.
