The Xbox 360 version looks the best but God dang, they needed to chill with the bloom, you can barely even make out the details of the cars because they look too dark and shadow-y. They might as well have just made them silhouettes.
I think the original Xbox version is the best. It has the content that the 360 altered/removed (like the tutorials, cutscenes, and the golf mini game) and it has solid visuals. The 360 version has a lot of extra content like more cars and crash junctions, but the excessive use of bloom isn’t easy on the eyes. Why they didn’t just add an option to disable that is beyond me.
I dont know, the 360 bloom actually doesn't annoy me too much, I actually like it on the city and night stage where it looks more complete overall, also um, it's BC on Xbox One/Series
One thing I noticed is that the trackside details are different in both the PS2/Xbox Versions and the 360 version. Biggest example is Eastern Bay. Do a lap on both versions and you notice the difference in where the buildings are placed and whats been taken out and added in the 360 version.
What's crazy is I somehow missed Burnout revenge back in the day and didn't play until 2024 and now I'm obssessed with it. I'm thinking about getting a 360 JUST for revenge.
The PS2 version had 16:9 widescreen support and could be enabled to run in 480 progressive scan like the XBox version too. It's a shame you uploaded the PS2 version in 4:3.
I assume you have to activate widescreen via the PS2 settings and progressive scan with the Triangle/Cross on startup. This uploader probably didn't know about it
La x360 tendra mas resolución, pero los colores opacos y el bloom excesivo y mal implementado la hace ver horrible con escenarios apagados. Me quedo con las versiones de PS2 y Xbox
Fyi to everyone watching this vid. The bloom effects look like mud because of youtube compression. On the actual console they are way more atmospheric and dont blur the screen I literally was playing it five minutes ago. Biggest difference is the cars in the ps2 xbox versions can be taken out easier, they careen into walls at a small touch like in burnout 3 or paradise. while the 360 version they are constantly putting up a fight and you have to rlly force them off the road. The biggest deciding factor for what version to get should be whether you prefer a car combat experience (360) or racing focused experience (ps2 xbox). Both versions have there merit and imo neither is directly superior to the other. By my personal tastes i think of the 360 version as being the the complete experience, as the increased aggression of cars makes it feel different than any other burnout. But tbh both are 10/10
It's cropped out in this video but the 360 port has a border around the viewport. It's pretty annoying and I've never played another game on the system that does this
Overscan wasn't recognized quite yet, that's why the border is there. The PS2 version has the border too. Guitar Hero 2 on Xbox 360 does the same thing.
Same. I do not have a PS2, Xbox, or an Xbox 360, only a backwards compatible Wii, so I am stuck playing the first two Burnouts. Apparently they never released the other Burnouts on GameCube because of poor sales.
This is false and you know it. lol. The PS2 struggles to run the game and doesn't look as visually stunning as the 360. Though the 360 could use less bloom.
