I never did power brake . Hold the brake and push on the gas at the same time . Probably because I had 4 speeds and couldn't operate 3 pedals at the same time , My longest burn out ? Over 400 feet ! That's the entire length of a Football field , and goal post to goal post . 66 Chevelle if you want to know what did it .
I don't participate in trophy shows or judge cruises, far to many critics for me. As far as burnouts, l have a lot of money and hours invested in my machine to destroy it with a mindless action of trying to impress someone who wouldn't give a penny to rebuild it.
Attending car shows recently and i find a growing trend of Judges giving trophy's to 2012 and even newer cars and trucks..Cars or trucks you can find at almost any car lot today..How can they justify giving a trophy to anyone but a person who owns a classic car built in their garage over someone who went and bought a ready made car from a used car dealer..no thanks..These trophys earned by old schoolers means little to nothing anymore because of Judges working off the buddy system like that and not qualified to Judge anything more than their wifes cooking
I agree. as some one who was there in the muscle car era these are not that impressive. I am now 77 so I saw it all back in the day. owned a couple that won a lot at some tracks I went to. Now long gone.
