Actually, following through with the Storyteller... wouldn't it be possible that the goal is not recreating Afton... but recreating the story of FNAF. The storyteller is literally bringing the games to life not just Afton, but killer animatronics, missing children, and more.
While I don't like the mimic theories so far, this one I can kind of dig. The storyteller doing exactly what it's supposed to do, remix and remake the stories of freddys.

The mimic might be the main villian in Security Breach, but if we're being honest, the really real villian is Fazbear's lazy greediness. And the apparent lack of being forced to face any consequences. 😅
Something I find peculiar is that it was written specifically that the Mimic was created all the way back in the 70s/80s Very early in FNAF timeline standards This is very odd because all the other pieces of this puzzle (Like the Storyteller and the VR Games) are in modern day, they could have easily said that these Mimic endos were made as a new evolution for the Pizzaplex, but no, the story mentions its very early. I believe that for one, the Mimic story is helping us piece together Burntrap and the PizzaPlex story, but it might also be pointing us to look back at the OG games with the idea that the Mimic existed, or it might be used to patch up holes and inconsitencies. But only time will tell tbh
It's a way to create a copycat of William basically, because it is already difficult to fathom that the mimic was a thing when they were developing Help Wanted, there's no shot he was a thing before fnaf 4 or be lore relevant there
@@swaggycatgamergaming2010 The other thing is that if The Storyteller takes place in 2024, Edwin has to be 14-15 when he starts his company (it's described as him starting it in the early 70's, which is 1974 at the latest, and Edwin is 64 in The Storyteller), not to mention that he's described as starting his company out of college. I'm pretty convinced Storyteller has to be before 2024 with all of that taken into account.
Here’s some interesting details: In the Nexie Epilogue we learn that a whole line of mimic endoskeletons and they’re mentioned to see something and started to act weird towards customers and adults in general. This is very similar to FNaF 2 toys animatronics, phone guy even says that they acted normal around kids but when it comes to adults they just stare. FNaF 2 also has an easter egg where a random bare endoskeleton appears after the puppet leaves there box, and with the context of when the mimic appears and the connection to the mimic and the toy animatronics I think this endo is the first time we see the mimic.

Even if I’m completely bewildered by how utterly ridiculous and not-scary the lore has gotten, talking about it is such a fun way to connect with people.
@@RyeToast In FNAF1 and FNAF2 there's one unique animatronic, endoskeleton actually, all naked, trying to get into the room of night guard but he always fails. And this particular endoskeleton in FNAF1 spawns in Backstage, the same room where real Wiliam Afton killed 5 kids.
You know, now that I have heard it said out loud, I'm convinced. The more I learn about the Mimic, the more it becomes clear. And my view of the Burntrap ending is forever changed. Think back during the burntrap "fight". When the Blob gets involved in the gameplay, it clearly only tries to invade our space. If the Blob really was just a mindless creature that would lash out at anything it saw as a threat, then why does it wait til things are falling apart to attack Burntrap? It's only incursion is into the player's space. And what are the players doing in that area? Using fire to attack Burntrap. And when we do see it grab Burntrap in the cutscene, it comes down right where Burntrap is. No searching, just goes right for the limping chimera. On a related note: I'm pondering what Edwin meant when he saw the animatronics act weird then found the tiger head; Then he says or thinks to himself "it's happening again". What's happening again though? The only thing I can think of with any possible link is from FNAF2. It's the night where phone guy mentions that there was a spare yellow suit in the back, someone used it, now none of them are acting right. They interact with kids fine but when they encounter an adult they just stare. It's not an exact 1:1, but Edwin must be referring to whatever happened with the usage of the yellow suit in the back and the subsequent change in behavior of the animatronics. I'm not sure I really have enough grounds to say, but I suspect that the event that caused this shift was some kind of murder and the Mimic saw it somehow. In the Silver Eyes books, William says that the animatronic choreography is controlled by a central system. What if the Mimic programming was used as the foundation of this central control system. Just change it to tell the animatronics to Mimic a certain set of behaviors and not necessarily everything it saw. So when the Mimic sees William murder a kid, the agony that animated it was sparked again and it began changing. The animatronics became very creepy and just stared at adults. This pent up agony and proclivity for violence was awoken and Jeremy lost his frontal lobe. An animatronic biting someone's head with enough force to do that isn't a normal thing obviously. And under normal circumstances wouldn't even be possible given it wouldn't be something programmed in. But when you add in an agony fueled robot that commits everything it sees to memory to emulate, it starts to make more sense. I don't have a whole lot of reasons why it would shake out as I've described. But I just had a thought and ran with it.
I think in fnaf2, Springtrap got out of his safe room and persuaded William Afton . The Mimic witnessed William Afton shut off this dangerous animatronic with ease and became afraid of the adults ever since. The Mimic didn't pay attention to the kids because it knew it could easily kill them as Springtrap did. With Adults like William Afton, they were always a threat to its existence.
If you're confused. The "save him" victim is actually the one behind the "save them" incident, Springtrap. Springtrap was always dangerous and possessed by this evil soul. Throughout the fnaf3 tapes, they first treat Springtrap as a wearable suit, then inspect it for the springlock failures it's constantly causing, resort to alternative costumes, tell employees to not be around with this animatronic in the saferoom for too long, alerted their employees to never put this suit on because it would always cause a Springlock failure (cause it roamed around), and they finally locked him away. Remember, the Phone Guy was alive at the same time Springtrap became an active aniamtronic.
I actually really like this theory, especially that the blob wasn't killing burntrap at the end but saving him, because you're right that cutscene is ambiguous, and it gives a more satisfying reason why he is inevitably going to come back, rather than just 'oh yeah he escaped the blob and survived... Again'. Not sure that the trailers are good evidenced just because if this is the story they are trying to tell, I highly doubt they knew it at that point.
The issue with this theory is that GGY implies that GGY and the blob are enemies. As in his rewrite of the paper, GGY makes the story all about him being the wizard's favorite apprentice and how the later pages that used to be about how GGY controlling the animatronics, now switching to have an animatronic supervillain going into battle with a tentacled monster, which would be the Mimic against the blob in this case. Implying that the Mimic1 AI is against the Blob, which wouldn't make much sense if the Blob was also using the Mimic1 AI itself.
I think what may be going on is that since the blob may be saying this toward Vanny and BURNTRAP… maybe the blob is tellinf them to get Gregory, or they’ll get punished for it. It seems to be something that to the mimic is hugely important.
@@skelebonez1349 the issue there is that the Blob in this theory would have the same AI as Burntrap and the same AI that is possessing Vanny, so it would have no issues with just letting the two others do their thing since it would be something they all want with no need to threaten them. Personally, I believe the line referring to two characters being burned is from Burntrap and is actually referring to Freddy and Gregory, the two characters that were able to get out of the Mimic1 AI's control and get to Burntrap's location while not following Burntrap's orders.
Think of it this way. The Storyteller is creating the stage and characters. However, the character copies must come to Life and be "Themselves". And not all of these Characters like each other. So, the Mimics to be themselves must conflict and play the Games of Children. It is literally a Staged Play to Mimic Five Nights. And several of the beings in the Blob the Storyteller is emulating don't like Afton in the original Games.
I do love this counter argument, but I think I have an idea against it. If GGY is Gregory, and he’s against the blob, it would make sense. Gregory goes against everything the Mimic1 AI had programmed. He’s faulty, broken, incomplete. He goes against vanny, burntrap, and the blob. This explains why he is against the blob is GGY. It’s because he is faulty in a test subject sense. But hey, that’s just a theory. A GAME THEORYYYYYYY-
@@EnderDoesThings though with that, we know in the case of GGY that he and the mimic are working together, as this is the story that reveals he's patient 46, meaning he kills the therapist the he and Vanessa listen to once they attempt to dig to deep into both of their pasts. Not to mention how GGY has control over Glamrock Freddy and the other Glamrocks', which Gregory loses by the time of SB, making it possible that his connection to the Mimic AI at that point is the reason why GGY is in the code so much, because it's the code that makes the Glamrocks loyal to GGY.
I am not sure about the Glitchtrapvirus being the Mimicprogram. Why would it take the form of a stitched suit? Something that seems personal to William, while very unlikely to be seen by the mimic.
@@erickamakeeaina1649 But it would only know him in Springlock suits. If it saw him murder children in his character suits it must have been his yellow best. So it would represent itself as a Springlock animatronic if it wanted to be like Afton.
@@maelish321 It is possible but that would have been one of the very first kills Afton. The only time, to my knowledge, that William killed in a normal suit is in the silver eyes where he kill Charly as a baby, which is both probably not canon in the game lore and probably way to early for the mimic to have witnessed it.
Once again, you have brought unto us another well thought out FNAF theory! Cannot wait for the Ruin DLC to come out. Maybe Steel Wool are paying attention to all these theories and getting a sense of where the DLC should go next.
My main issues with the Mimic and the blob, is it suffers from having any real motives outside of just copying, not only that, its hard to apply any true hate to the Mimic like you could to William do to the damage and horrors he cause, because, the Mimic at the end of the day is only doing what it was programmed to do, whereas there was no excuse for William. So you feel kind of bad, for the Mimic, especially given that it was nearly killed by Henry its creator, for just doing what it was designed to do. Also why all the build up to make us believe William was back only to pull the surprise that nope, its just the Mimic. Also what about Michaels room from Sister Location? And the subtle hints of Michael still being alive. To me why go through the trouble of setting up a new villain that is mimicking and old villain, at that point just bring back the old villain. Im still hoping that if this Mimic twist winds up happening, that as the Mimic kills, that the agony, and remnant will eventually grow large enough to give William enough strength to break free of UCN and return once more, maybe even returning and putting an end to the imposter. The thing about imitators is they are usually not meant to actually replace what they are imitating, they are only standing in until the original returns, we have seen twist like this from horror movies like Halloween or Friday the 13th, if the Mimic is to become the next main villain then either it needs to eventually abandon the William facade and become its own character or eventually open the doors for William to return. Because again if its only going to imitate William than why not just bring him back. Also, whats going to happen to remnant, and the actual supernatural/ Haunted aspects of fnaf if we are only dealing with advanced ais now. I just find it hard, to just see all of that be abandoned for a more sci fi approach. I could be fine if this lead to history repeating itself and a new Missing Children Incident happened that made this build up worth something as well as taking the Mimic passed something that could be redeemed.

I would like to throw one other thing out there that I am surprised nobody has talked about. In one ending, we see 2 Vanessas. What are the chances that one of those is one of the mimics?
honestly, blob/mimic being the main villain is already miles better than "oh no, purple man back!" like jeez, we know he "always comes back" but still, about time we got a new antagonist, and everyone wanted a copycat killer situation, and we've got it in a twisted sci-fi way. also been a fan of the channel recently, good stuff, water is best drink hands down, even in my own opinion lmao
It's not better, it's just as cool. Like wake up you act as if this series antagonist has been the same for years when we've had multiple other than Afton. Ennard, Baby, Fredbear, Golden Freddy, seriously think for a moment lol. And yeah "he always comes back" is Afton's iconic line and how he works, which everyone loved until now for some reason. "Oop nah we hate him coming back now even though we loved it before and it's pretty terrifying and cool for a psycho killer to constantly cheat death." Don't ever complain about consistency until you yourself are consistent lmao.

This kinda makes sense, it would explain why the Blob attacks Gregory and leaves everything else alone. My problem is that if both the Burntrap and the Blob mimics in seperate bodies, then what’s with the differences in their eyes? Sure that could be explained by how Scraptrap might have William’s agony but wouldn’t that make him somewhat the actual Afton then? And throughout the boss battle Burntrap was trying to take over Freddy, shouldn’t that be Glitchtrap or the Blob’s doing? Why let Burntrap be the one to do all this?
Rye talked about it in the previous video, Burntrap is using his EMP powers to make Freddy do a reboot, therefore putting him in normal mode, so he can be hacked. Watch the first video about the Mimic.
I’m loving this theory. It explains everything smoothly and ties in the initial trailer beautifully. I remember rewatching that trailer and just loving the potential behind whoever was speaking, so to have it belong to Gramptrap just never sat right with me. I’m not a FNAF buff, so this may have some flaw I’m just unaware of, but if it is confirmed then I’ll be satisfied that something that far back was actually delivered on even through all the hot mess that was Security Breach

I’m just glad they’re moving away from burntrap literally being William again. It’s still rough, but I prefer William’s influence still remaining, just post death and his presence is purely in people who remember him and idolize or are mimicking him.
This made me randonly remember the story(forgot the name) that a game creator made an ai, and left it running to torture it. Again, forgot the specific, but that story feels weirdly similar to this
This is my theory: The mimic became Glitchtrap then possessed Vanessa. Their goal was then to rebuild Afton, so they used parts of the mimic endoskeleton and Glamrock Bonnie (Since the arms were missing) as well as the pieces of Afton’s corpse, and the skull of an employee. They used the mimic so it could become William Afton again, but Afton’s mind was so damaged, that they had to teach it to become Afton again (Almost as if he had a stroke). That’s why on the anniversary card, The main Villains up front were Glitchtrap, Vanny, and Burntrap, it’s not two Williams and a Vanny, it’s the mimic, Vanny, and Afton.
Interesting as always, i see this being a possibility, although there are some statements i disagree with, the mimic endo sure was damaged in the story "the mimic", but it's clear that by the time of the epilogues he's fixed and able to perform very well, he killed 11 men in few minutes after all, and his contracting mecanism works. The mimic1 program sees to work as a system, i think it every iteration of him could be a body controllable by the program. Also there's a detail you might be interested with, when you remove the funtime freddy mask from the blob along with some other steel faceplates you can see that the endo head behind is actually a glamrock endo head, it has to mean something.
I would be much happier to think that the Blob/Storyteller is how Mimic1 got into Pizza Plex, but it then used the full wiring connection to ditch the blob in favor of trying to reanimate/infect Burntrap. It shambles about because it’s such a corpse at this point, but they are slowly introducing the new Bonnie pieces as to make sure the new pieces will work. It’s why there’s a focus on those bass-playing, sharp fingers. Taking the agony of the souls out of the blob takes a LOT of the narrative sails out of the blob (for me). It may be where the books are starting to point us, but I think the more satisfying thing is to think that the Blob is getting one more stab at revenge in that last cutscene.
A small little side theory... in the first trailer, we hear clockwork ticking, could it be a nod to The Mimics book past... A Grieving father looking upon the clock work ticking animatronic pretending to be some version of his dead kid and his anger is voiced in those lines.
No bc this actually MAKES SENSE. If we stop to think, the blob probably had a lot of time down at the fnaf 6 location and probably witnessed Vanny creating Burntrap. If the blob is actually good, why the heck didnt they stopped Vanny??? I actually liked this theory, even tho it was kinda confusing at first.
Glad you think so! It's one of those theories that makes a lot of sense in a vacuum, but it's something I hadn't thought of because I was so set on the blob being antagonistic towards William Afton, instead of trying to control him
When originally hearing the "both of you" voiceline, honesty I didn't think the speaker was talking to two people. That's a completely valid conclusion, but I assumed the speaker could have been talking to one person, and the "Both of you" was referencing the individual they were speaking to, along with some third party that we don't have the context to understand, but the speakers and recipient do
When I first saw the ending cutscene of SB, I immediately assumed that it was the blob rescuing burntrap. I mean, it’s clear from the gameplay that they are on the same team, right? Or is that just me? But then everyone else in the community jumped on the “the blob killed afton again” train and I just shrugged and moved on.
I just thought of this. The Mimic program explains one of the weirder section in Security Breach. The Weeping Angel Endo section. Remember the doors with instruction for the Endos. If the Endos were to have the mimic program that would explain those doors.
Very interesting video RyeToast! I'll admit that when the Afton Ending i was a bit confused as to how possibly Afton came back. Now that the Mimic is the one whose using Afton's corpse as one of its host bodies would be an interesting idea. The Blob also confused me as I was unsure if the Blob was good or not. I'm still unsure about the Blob although it being the Storyteller could possibly explain why its a jumble of wires. It would be cool for the Blob to take the battalion as the new villan of FNAF. Can't wait to see how Ruin DLC will use the Blob and its future in the FNAF story
I am not sure that using lines from the trailers that didn't end up in the game is wise. There was a lot of time between those trailers and launch of SB, and it is accepted that the game's story changed between the delays. Plus, the lines didn't appear in yhe original game, so taking them as lore pieces is a bit sketchy. Also, I don't get the "Blob is the SB Storyteller" theory that people seem to have.There isn't any real connection between the two entities to really sell the idea to me. The only connection that some theorists state is that they both are made of wires, and they connect to the Pizzaplex. But that is sort of flimsy. The Blob doesn't seem to be physically connected to anything, much less the building itself. Instead acting like an independent entity. The Blob is far much closer to animitronics like Ennard and Molten Freddy than a mainframe. Even if you say it was disconnected, it still moves on it's own, not like a computer system taken out. (Also, the large tree structure that The Storyteller is housed is not present anywhere in the game. Not even a location that could parallel it.) Overall, I lean more towards the "Blob is made up of Agony" theory that MatPat went more into.
@@grenouillesupreme but that part looked like it was a part of the underground ruins, the same as the Fnaf 6 location. That state of ruin it was in doesn't just come from an attraction bring taken out. Those pieces imply to me that it was there for a while. Also, my point in the Blob's form is still present. It is too clumped, too agile with too much movement, and too put together for it to just be a mainframe ripped out of the structure. They also look to be just thrown together, with multiple scrapped animitronic pieces in it. The Blob also behaves, looks, and moves more like the other animitronics made of multiple wires and spare parts: Ennard and Molten Freddy.

I think you might be on the right track with this one .. and the Blox being the main villain , the mastermind would be such a good plotwist! Also we know that the Blob was going after parts in the PizzaPlex! from those messages that we collected!
The blob (mimic1) is collecting freddy fazbears artifacts from across the pizzaplex because mimic1 WAS IN HELP WANTED AND SAW ALL OF THE ANIMATRONICS OF THE PAST. Great theory!
Actually, I think The Blob is an amalgamation of the ramins of all the animatronics (that's why it has heads and parts of the originals, the funtime, etc.) and I think that amalgamation is controlled by William Afton. Because after the UCN, William (who was in Golden Freddy's suit suffering his hell) exploded, and his soul went to the animatronic Agony, only to be torn to pieces and thrown into a river by Puppet. Then, The Blob could find that remains of Agony with the weak soul of Afton and merge him, making him the main conscience of that amalgamation.
I like that the early form of the Mimic in the VR space is unknown. We only see it after it has started to take on something like a final form. Or at least something more advanced than version 0.0.1 Say what you want about Scott, he seems to know how to add more questions while very rarely amswering precious ones
I think the naked endoskeleton from FNAF1 and FNA2 is actually the Mimic. At that time of these two games Chick's head got repaired by Edwin Murray, Mimic got created by Edwin Murray, Wiliam Afton killed kids what Mimic witnessed, Mimic started to mimic Afton and other animatronics.

I feel like if the Funtime Freddy head of the blob is analogous to the Tiger Rock head in the books…. doesn’t that mean that the little freddy plush that crying child has is analogous to the white tiger plush the boy has in the books? following this logic, would the ‘creator who has no time to raise their child, so makes a robot caretaker’ be william? or am i taking this too far lol
Slightly unrelated but one of the things that I noticed about the mimic I haven't seen mentioned is that in the story David used to carry a tiger plush and the mimic later uses the tiger rock as its face when its the Story Telller. i don't know if this was supposed to be symbolic but I think if we switch the tiger rock for a freddy plush or glamrock freddie maybe that explains why the blob has the funtime freddy mask. Sorry these thoughts are a little all over the place, just interesting stuff I noticed, but don't really know where the pieces fit.
I haven't completely watched the video but I started thinking about eye color, the blob, vanny, moon,... they all have red eyes while burntrap has purple eyes so is there something to this?
I don't think the mimic is represented in one character, but three Afton's return in a computer Endos learning in the basement Baby as she watched her father work in his bunker

Those voice lines were actually confirmed to be afton by the voice actor! I still super love this theory though and think it could still work regardless
I have a question: If the corpse on burntrap is in fact Williams, How can it (the corpse) have gotten its teeth back as we can see William (springtrap) has no teeth (fnaf 3 Easter egg death/startup screens)

My only question with the blob being controlled by mimic 1 is, why are some of the animatronic eyes lit up and not others? Is that actually important here anyways, or just a minor detail?
What you described about the Mimic having to teach Burntrap made me think of the Fazbear Frights story “In The Flesh” where Springtrap in the VR game being developed just keeps killing his previous iterations.
Honestly, its most likely that William's agony was put in HW and combined with the Mimic's code in the game to create Glitchtrap and when Glitchtrap possessed Vanessa he was put in the actual rebuilt Mimic animatronic, combined with William's dead body and became Burntrap. The Blob obviously attacks Burntrap hence Funtime Freddy's signature open face when he attacks someone. The Blob is what remains of the agony and animatronic parts in FNAF 6 and parts around the Pizzaplex. Freddy heavily implies he knows what and who the Blob is so while I agree the Blob could be the part of the Mimic or the true big bad, it certainly can't be the actual Mimic

I'm still not convinced that The Blob is the TRUE Main Antagonist!!! Especially since I Don't see any Reason for the Blob to "Rescue" Afton; especially since It STILL looks like Burntrap is Flailing about while the Blob is taking him away!!! If The Blob WASN'T Dragging Burntrap down to destroy him; WHY IS BURNTRAP FLAILING TRYING TO ESCAPE THE BLOB'S GRASP?!!!

i do think that some of William's agony did affect the mimic 1 program when glitchtrap was made since the suit is (a theory made by gametheory) is hand made and probably one of the first things william made which i agree with because it make glitch trap has williams intentions while not exactly being Afton but a mimic of the how afton perfectly sees himself
At least the true ending of security breach makes sense now but this means the blob is the villain which makes some sense since the blob has the body pieces of funtime freddy,chica,bonnie,circus baby and others it is likely melding the robots together with the memories attached and is using that for burntrap as to teach it
I swear every goddamn week there seems to be another huge lore reveal these days that throws the entire fnaf lore upside down. I'm surprised that i'm still keeping up with the lore developments after almost 10 years. Good video though!
So I accidentally skipped too far in the ad, and past most of the trailer so all I heard was “both of you burn” and it sounded like Freddy’s voice saying that to vanny and afton
theory the mimic1 software was something always used for the animatronics, or at least a primitive version of it. i think the suit mode would be used specifically to train the mimic1 AI, teaching them what to do and how to treat guests and kids in the establishment. think about it! what better way to train an AI built for mimicry then temporarily using it as a suit and teaching it from a first person perspective? it could also somewhat explain glitchtrap, the suit william used could have potentially had the mimic1 software inside of it or at least something similar, learning his killing strategies, patterns and behaviours. one of those circuit boards for the VR game could have been ripped from Afton's original suit, giving life to a program built from the habits of a killer and the agony of his victims. the mimic1 software would have never seen him acting normally, rather than seeing a normal person it would have only seen and experienced him being creepy and animated, a character he played whilst killing kids. it would explain why glitchtrap skips around and is animated so creepily, it's how william behaved in the suit. something to consider from this is that some of the murders may not have even been william and were really the suit! hell, it could have been his first attempt at luring away kids before the funtimes or maybe it gave him the idea for them! the fumtime animatronics are more refined, they clearly have the craft of luring and capturing down pat, everything's been thought of. just a slight bit more evidence, it's stated that the funtimes mimic parents voices. william's original spring bonnie suit may have had a mimicry AI in it which would learn from his killing patterns and mannerisms to do the exact same thing and kill FOR him, being a primitive version of the funtimes, helping him kill kids or at least giving him the idea for the funtimes. does it work out in the timeline? well no, not really, but the timeline is a mess and i don't think anyone has it 100% down yet so who knows?
I absolutely dig this theory! One fun thing is that it does not matter whether the original FNAF games are real or not. They could just be video games that exist in a Security Breach reboot of the series and the Mimic could be making Afton real for the first time. Or it could have still all happened and nothing really changes. But it definitely explains everything very very well.
