I got a great deal on a pre-owned Aero Precision X15 build chambered in .458 SOCOM about 2 years ago. It came with a Burris RT-3 which works so good for me. I'm older and the 3x is just right even at 25 meters. I know everyone's eye is different but this works so well for mine I just mounted a new Burris RT-3 on a Ruger SFAR.
the little dots outside the reticles when you turn the illumination on are pretty normal.....i think they're on the reticles itself because when you move the sight, those dots appear and disappear, if they're dirt, they will be there being illuminated whatsoever. If you do the same to the rifle scope, turn the illumination to the higest level and close the fromt cap, you will likely notice some 'noise' outside the main reticles as well.
Excellent review, very informative and comprehensive. I have struggled adding the weight of a prismatic optic to counter an astigmatism. This has left me with 1x4, 1x6 scope options that also add 16 ounces+mount. I contacted Vortex to determine if 2021 will be the year they introduce a similar product; they didn’t confirm. I just purchased a Springfield Saint Victor AR15 rifle yesterday and I think will mount this optic today after I drop by Cabelas to purchase one. If it’s as good as advertised, it might also be a option for my 300 Blackout pistol. The Vortex Strike Eagle has a similar smaller reticle but it’s designed for 3 gun competitions. A second larger reticle option for CQB with one hash mark would be on point. Running suppressed is always +1.
Thank you I appreciate that. And I was in the same boat and when I found this I was like yep that’s what I need. Hope you enjoy it too. Let me know what you think about it.
Super impressive looking prism scope. I recently built an AR and I have a SIG MSR on it. I think I'll be putting this optic on my AR and moving the MSR to my 10/22. Great review!
@@justinsacia9320 I picked up two. Everything I researched said this is a really solid 3x Prism Optic and I have had nothing but good luck with Burris products purchased a while ago and still use today. This deal is almost 2 for the price of 1!
@@justinsacia9320 I have a primary arms 1x micro prism and considered trying their new 3x micro prism but it's definitely considerably more expensive than the Burris
Very informative and helpful review. As an avid shooter and firearms instructor I spend a lot of time researching gear, which includes lots of youtube reviews from people I trust and have followed for a long time. You've earned my subscription. Best of luck with your channel👍
Jacob Grove thank you very much. I really appreciate the time you took to write a sincere comment. It’s great to hear that the video was helpful because that’s what it’s all about. Best to you as well!
Thanks! That’s super cool! Glad u enjoy the videos. The suppressor is an OSS rad 22. Now they rebranded and are called “huxwrx”. But it’s my favorite 22 suppressor because it’s noise level, and how clean it stays, and how it keeps the gun cleaner for longer because it expels gasses quicker
I just bought it and I am impressed.. for the price to performance/ foot print.. it's amazing Also I'm digging the factory slanted mount. I was so close on buying a primary arms GLX 2x I'm glad I didn't because I really wanted a smaller and lighter prism (which I didn't even think there was one on the market ) This optic is living on my AR9 and is going to stay there.
I bought one of these the beginning of this year. Couldn't find an rt6 so I impulse bought in defiance. I've shot it a few times, liked it. Couldn't find anything about it either. I wish I could throw a qd mount on it, hate that the mount is a part of the optic.
@@justinsacia9320 I have two buddies who have run one, and a third is an FFL who had placed orders in the past. To my knowledge, it has the poor eye relief of a magnifier.
Great review. I have the Burris AR-332 and it’s pretty good. I just wish the class was better. I wonder if the glass on the RT-3 is better, do you know? Thanks
Forgive my ignorance, but what is that little supressed Pistol/carbine type gun you have it mounted to there? What caliber and brand/ or what products did you build it from? and what kinda can is that your running? SOunds super quiet!
are those mags full of .22lr? they are really wide front to back for .22lr. interesting... Ide love to have a lil plinker set up like that... Either a actual Firearm .22lr like that.. Or perhaps a semi-auto .25cal or .30 cal PCP AIr pisol carbine with a superessor on it... altho ... that things super quiet for a actual FA! great lil squirell gun i bet
@@VanXHydrA hi, it’s the keltec cp-33 22lr with a brace adapter made buy a 3rd party to fit the pistol. I’m selling it on gunbroker right now if ur interested. The suppressor is the oss rad 22. It was actually my designated squirrel gun and was amazing for that. It has a quad stack magazine and holds 33 rounds
What's the actual field of view? "Its huuuge!" and a blank spot on the spec sheet are all the info Burris provides. This products competitors all list that info, and they vary wildly.
Good question. And couldn’t tell ya! All I know is the fov is large and similar to the best optic I own which is the vortex razor gen 2E (at 3x), but you gota get close to the optic to utilize it. Similar to how you have to get your eye close to a magnifier. Sorry I couldn’t help more there just isn’t a ton of info on the optic.
Do you have any experience with the gen 2 Vortex 3x prism scopes? Similar in concept and size to the rt-3, but want to know if you have a preference between the two. Thanks
I do not. However I would have bought the vortex if I had known they were coming out the month after I bought the Burris. Mainly because of the VIP warranty.
@@justinsacia9320 yeah, I looked through both at a Cabela’s. They weren’t mounted so, difficult to truly judge. I felt the vortex had crisper glass but that the Burris had a more forgiving eye box. However, I was in a rush and need to do a more deliberate assessment of the two. I couldn’t go wrong with both. If I pickup the vortex I’ll let you know what I think. If I get the Burris then I can’t tell you anything you don’t already know. Both are perfect carbine scopes as far as size, weight and performance. Thanks again
Well, my rt-3 arrived today. The roomier eyebox of the rt-3 was enough to edge out the vortex’s mounting height options. A 3x lightweight prism scope with a red dot footprint is the perfect carbine optic in my book
@@brianreisbeck6592 the brace is from “farrow tech”. Specific to the CP33. It’s a combination of farrow tech’s extendable arms and the tail hook mod 1 that mounts in a special way only to the cp33.
