I loved this show as a kid. It's like Gundam and DBZ's estranged love child. Idk if I would still love it now, but damn if it wasn't great at the time.
Domon in this episode reminded me of those silver age Superman comics where they would literally just constantly give Superman new powers as the plot demanded.
Actually, Chibodee completely handed Domon his ass the entire fight. Domon merely pulled a move out of his ass he never utilizes again (I CAN MAKE CLONES FOR SOME REASON HUHR), and then they ended the class in Chibodee throwing a regular (albeit hyper mode enhanced) punch while Domon spear-headed his attack with Erupting God Finger. Domin had to win for plot's sake. Ergo, he did.
@@tnmblonewolf8799Only difference is that while Master Asia didn’t have DG cells his Master Gundam did. When I part would get destroyed it would self recover. So his clones could have been done that way. But ehhh I’m digging to deep 😂
@@Dracile22 That's not what he's talking about and I'm glad someone else at least noticed this. Master Asia has a technique that he uses once in the last fight and IIRC once during the Shinjuku arc where he makes mini-me clones of his Gundam. It's most certainly a technique of Master Asia himself and not anything to do with DG Cells as near everything Master Asia does in the Master Gundam (and the Kowloon Gundam as well) are things he can do on his own barring flight and self recovery. When Domon learns Sekihatenkyouken Master Asia notes that's the only technique he'd never taught Domon which means Domon knows all his other techniques including the cloning one.
@@theezenriarinze9203 Yep! Like, they have these giant robots, so it'd be strange if the characters stopped using their robots with no explanation given. The same applies to the ability to create 5 copies of yourself; if he can do that why wouldn't he do it again in the future, or at least have a reason he can't do it again? Just because it's fantasy doesn't mean it can't be internally consistent.
@@howlingdin9332 Yes internal consistency like how they have teenagers piloting these giant robots lmaooooo or how they never show the logistics of refueling and replenishing these robots lmaooooo
@@howlingdin9332 because it's useless against other foes. You need to remember, this is a super robot show painted up like gundams. This man literally went into space, hopped out of his mech and rescued his girlfriend after confessing his feelings to her and she then proceeded to help him summon the burger King and perform the ultimate attack with the power of love. tl;Dr super robot shows don't need to make sense. They just have to be amazing. G Gundam is very amazing.
Shining gundam vs Burning Gumdam SG: This Hand of mine is shining bright BG: it’s loud roar tells me to grasp victory SG: ULTIMATE!! BG: ERUPTING!! SG: SHINING FINGER!!!!! BG: BURNING FINGER!!!!
Chibodee screwed over all the other fighters by being the first contestant. He shows Domon his signature move that was so powerful that Domon had to train hard to counter. Domon then casually beats everyone else through sheer power gained from training.
Sai Saici fought his damndest in his last match with Domon. He's the only one to actually break through the Burning finger. I'd say that was his best match
@@dragons_hook Sai definitely did the most damage, but my point still kind of remains. Domon started training extra hard because he knew he couldn't beat Chibodee. Sai might have been able to over power Domon had he not been hard-core training himself beforehand. He was able to brute force his way through everyone after the Chibodee fight. Real question is what was Argo's master plan during his match? He was willing to die to try and break the burning finger even though the Sai fight shows that Domon can just use it with the left hand.
@@dragons_hook Sai was getting dominated until he finally destroyed burning finger. Domon destroyed all of Dragon Gundam's limbs, and everyone wanted Sai to surrender. Yeah, Argo fight was crusher. Argo planed to crush burning finger hand by sacrificing his head unit in exchange to win. Apparently he didn't watch Sai's fight since he didn't seem aware Domon could use the left arm as well. Also don't know how he would win even if it worked since it would still have likely blown up his head in exchange for the arm. Ultimately Argo lost because Bolt Gundam's legs couldn't withstand the force between Gia Crusher and burning finger colliding, and one of them snapped in half at the knee.
1:05 I love everything about this. For one Chibodee’s facial expressions, they didn’t have do that, but I love that they did. Besides that, I loved that Domon flat out compliments him as a rival. haven’t seen the full show in years but I don’t know if he calls the other 3 that. Always thought Domon and Chibodee were probably the closest as genuine rivals of the Alliance, even their hair style is similarly shaped. You love to see it, a good rivalry. Ryu and Ken
It's ironic because Chibodee lost the hardest in their first fight; Domon won vs George but had to clutch it out and Sai Saici and Argo were both draws.
they should have skipped God Gundam and just called it Deus Ex Machina Gundam since it can just pull out any move to beat an opponent. need to beat a rose tornado? puts fire on it's swords, need to stop ten simultaneous punches? creates shadow clones. you never fear he'll lose because he can and will make up any technique he needs and then never use it again.
Something that has always bugged me about this: I get Domon training himself to compensate for Chibodee's finisher; I've no issues there. Much as it STILL feels like an ass pull; I've seen comments mentioning Master Asia having a similar clone technique and admitting that Domon knew all but one of his techniques until the finals of the competition. What confounds me is how despite neither one scoring a truly crippling hit; is there really a good reason for Domon to be the decisive winner aside from the plot saying so? After the Machinegun Punch is blocked; neither Gundam is in super mode... despite both pilots being in that state; what made the difference between the two? I get it in the other matches against the Shuffle Alliance: George overcommits to a lunge with his saber and leaves himself open to the Burning Finger, Argo makes Bruce's mistake and sacrifices sure footing for a killing stroke sort of, Sai... Sai somehow forgets humans have two goddamned hands for a reason! I don't see where Chibodee made a mistake beyond showing Domon the technique beforehand. Then again; I could just be forgetting the finale of the fight aside from Domon winning.
wish Domon used this move more than once, could’ve used it in the Shadow Gundam fight and have it fail there just to make Shadow Gundam more intimidating
First Comment and rate W00t! but seriously, In your video description, I don't think you give chipodee, any credit. Domon doesn't kick his ass in this fight. The Burning Gundam just had a bit more power than Maxter. But Domon DID kick his ass in thier first fight on earth (and kicks Sai Saichi's ass in both in thier fights). But good vid regardless!!!
I love this anime, that being said. The insatant counter to Chibodee's attack is bullshit. Would have been better to withstand the attack and then avoid or counter it the next time. But Shonen always has power ramping and one-time use abilities that would be amazing later but are never used again.
I never could get into this one, it was just to cheesy for me. Not insulting those who like it mind you, so don't get all "Interman Strongman" on me, just saying this show wasn't really my thing. On a side note, Burning Gundam is one heck of a Master Grade Kit though.
