The Burstner Ixeo Time 710G has a relatively large garage under a width wise bed and a bed over the lounge. See more in the video! The film has stabilisation issues which have since been resolved.
I did like that, especially as a guy who lives on the same street as me has one of these (but a little bit older) and I was dying to know what it looked like inside but did not want to seem nosy. Sorted.
The transverse double has one major disadvantage for a mature couple who both might need to get up in the night, one partner having to clamber over the other!
Alan, could you help me with a bit of advice please. I know nothing about motorhomes, except what ive seen on internet, but my Wife and I are seriously thinking of getting one, however, we need to know who to approach for our requirements, which are as follows; Not too long - 6-6.4mtr, only one double bed, electric, set in roof (centre), good size shower, im not the smallest. rear garage door, so that we can slide in 15ft kayak which will come through the middle of the m/home, separate diesel tank for heating,not too worried about extra seating cos we dont have any family to take or meet up with. Everything else would be just gravy.
Sorry I did not see this when posted, I only noticed now! The problem is fitting the kayak in - you could leave it in the gangway if you don't mind tripping over it, however getting it through the door is likely to be a problem. There are motorhomes with raised double floors but I suspect they won't be big enough. However it would go on the roof and many vans have ladders up there! As for separate diesel tank, I can't see the point of that unless it is to get cheaper heating fuel but I think the cost of installation would be the same as many years of use. Rather than buy an existing van, I think you may have to change your requirements or get one built to order!
