Burt so articulate precise and confident both on and off screen, he's a class act for sure , loved most of his films rarely made a bad one and so versatile in his abilities, sadly nothing like him today

Not exactly like him but there are decent, thoughtful, down to earth stars today. For example, Goldie Hawn. My father had a long conversation with Lancaster waiting for a train in Flagstaff AZ in 1954, and my niece had a visit with Hawn who picked her up hitchhiking in Aspen CO in the 1990s. They both were the interesting, concerned, likeable people they seem to be in interviews.

Unlike today, where everybody is a slave to social media, Burt Lancaster had an interesting, varied and anonymous life before he became an actor. Thus, you see a complete grown man with an intelligent mind of his own and beautiful manners. It's sad to think what's been lost in our culture.

I totally agree. One aspect of modern life I find so unappealing, is the empty headed, vacuous nature of so much that people say and do. Burt Lancaster was a formidable man in both body and mind. His 1964 film, “The Train” is one of my all time favourites.

A class act and wonderful actor who was very well spoken and educated (world-wise, street-wise). Like many of his films but my favorite is Elmer Gantry.

2:20 --- _"The boy who worked as my partner in show business and worked in some films with me, _*_Nicholas Cuccia_*_ was his name."_ That is, of course, by his stage name, the wonderful Nick Cravat. _"He played the mute character in several films mostly because his thick Brooklyn accent would have been out of place."_ To me, the most memorable duo work of Lancaster and Cravat was in _"The Crimson Pirate"._ Such joy to see them flying up and down.

My Grandmother couldn’t understand how women liked modern (at the time) actors. They’re not men! She’d always cite Burt Lancaster as a real man.

In The Train movie, Lancaster did all the stunt work and climbed onto roof of house without ladder and flew down a long ladder not using the rungs. He was an amazing athlete along with being underrated actor.

I never really liked Burt Lancaster as an actor, but after listening to these many interviews , i realize how smart,articulate and educated this man was...I learned something very important today, ..is that we shouldn t judge somebody by their appearance only...He was a good looking man, but he was not my type..nor his movies..but the essence of a person goes beyond his image...If he wrote his biographiy , I would certainly like to read it..

If I haven't had seen Mr. Lancaster acting in any film before these few minutes ... I would have been a fan of his instantly in its wake .. just to listen and watch is like an ayurvedic appliance for spirit and soul . btw. I really love the 'Hallelujah Trail' and him 'maneuvering' his horse and in the tub ♥️🌻

WHEN I SEE BURT LANCASTER I THINK OF STORIES ABOUT HIM AND MY FATHER ON 106 st 3av they wher born the same year 1913 . and used go swimming in the east river. when my fother died 1953 my mother received a telegram that he could not attend was makind a movie whes very sorry . i met him when i was six years old he had came to our aparttment when he was in new york. a real nice man god bless you burt. all so sent a lot of toys. when i got old er i whent to his funeral. he whes like a big brother to me .

Один из немногих актеров, которому не обязательно в роли много говорить. Его выразительное, наполненное смыслом лицо, говорило о многом и без слов! Редкий дар - игра без слов. Бёрт Ланкастер - один из самых великих актеров. Особенно нравится в "Вернись малышка Шеба", "За отдельными столиками", "Пловец", "Отсюда в вечность" и конечно его европейские фильмы Висконти и Бертолуччи вывели его на новый уровень драматического мастерства. Вечная память и благодарность.

Both from New York. However, Burt was honest,intelligent, articulate, self effacing, talented and a humanitarian supporter of people less fortunate than himself and he was also a self made man who rose from humble origins to become a successful master of his chosen craft. Trump on the other hand was given millions of dollars by his kkk supporting father and went on to become one of the most vacuous, dishonest, tasteless, tacky, greedy, untalented, racist, elitist, fascist, treasonous, criminal, inarticulate, narcissistic unread, uneducated, sociopathic, worthless stains on humanity of all time.
