In this video, I’m going share with you a genius life hack for the garden! Bury an egg in your garden soil and what happens a few days later will surprise you! Well, this certainly took me by surprise, but I’m telling you, the effect and benefits are amazing! This is one of the best gardening tips out there! Good soil means everything for a gardener looking to raise healthy, happy plants. While there are countless chemicals and expensive solutions, there are actually many natural ways to boost nutrients and maintain a successful garden.
This video will show you different ways to use eggs as a natural fertilizer to make any type of soil enriched with nutrients. After which you’ll never feel the need to buy those expensive chemical fertilizers again. The solution to a thriving plant may be as simple as the effort it takes to bury an egg in your garden soil! As you prepare your pots with soil, simply include a raw egg at the bottom. Over time the egg will decompose and will work as a natural fertilizer for the seedlings. You can also just sprinkle some crushed egg shell fertilizer on top of the soil. Which works just as good as buried eggs in the garden. But, you can also make a nutritious eggshell tea fertilizer. Or, make some DIY eggshell seed starters! Eggshells have nitrogen, calcium, and phosphoric acid which make them an ideal choice for garden use. So next time you boil or fry an egg, don’t throw away the egg shells, but instead recycle them to grow seedlings.
Watch this video and you will learn more about some natural ways to have a healthy garden and potted plants. Give it a try yourself! Bury an egg in your garden soil and see what happens a few days later!

I have been using whole eggs as well as shells for decades and still swear by it. You can also use banana peels, apple skins, egg shells and chicken manure and mix it all up to make a super fertilizer that is not only practically free, but also by fr the best mixture for all gardens to help produce the largest fruits and vegetables you'll ever see grow naturally! I had peaches the size of softballs and were the sweetest peaches I've ever had in my life. Trust me, go to any farm and ask for chicken manure and they will give you a bucket and point where you can shovel it in for free since you're doing them a favor. The shells, peels, and skins you al have in your fridge I'm sure since we all eat fruits and eat eggs.

When I was little, and adoringly followed him around, I wondered why, when my dad dug the hole to plant a garden bed, he would throw in egg shells, empty cans, ashes, and left over chicken and meat bones. As I grew, and saw trophies from fairs and other competitions, for vegetables and flower growing excellence, I became aware of why he went to so much trouble as a gardener. He also used to graft one species of rose plant onto another, to produce new strains, and the most unique colours and patterns, which also gained him adulation. His green thumb has thankfully been passed to me.

You can also put egg shells in compost along with coffee grounds and other plant kitchen scraps. No meat products. Composting is to me the best way to get rid of yard waste and kitchen waste that in smaller amounts is nearly effortless once your system is set up. Works great for potting and planting any plants. Paper egg cartons and drink trays from fast food places are great for compost as well. They are made from pressed and dried paper pulp. When they get wet enough they will return to paper pulp and will disappear in compost fast.

Buried a fish near three feet down in a one foot by one foot square hole, , packed it down as it did smell a bit, thought it would be safe. Next morning half of the dirt was out. Must have been a bigger size dog that it's head and paws wouldn't fit as it dug down and the robbery was aborted. I'd heard that tabasco sauce deterred dogs from biting the bottom of wooden fences to get out of their backyard. A plan was formed and executed. Nothing has put a paw on that dirt since. Where ever one buries eggs, fish, prawn shells, meat/bones, veggie scraps and anything that smells absolutely delicious, even if it's two or three feet downunder, here's a hint. Oh, this is also for fresh or sunbaked roadkill that has that delectable, unmistakable aroma that travels for miles alerting all critters of the neighbourhood... and shire, that dinner is served. Very lightly sprinkle cayenne pepper over the immediate area (where the treasure is buried) and then about six inches out from the first sprinkle (that's over the treasure) sprinkle a light warning ring. At the warning ring... a sniff, a lick of a paw, and the treasure is 'guaranteed' safe.

Bake eggshells at 250 for 30 minutes. Crush into a powder. Mix 1 tbsp eggshell and 1 tbsp vinegar in 1 gallon water. Let it sit 1 hour before using. The vinegar makes the calcium water soluble. 🙃 no need to wait on decomposing.

I crush egg shells & mix them with other table scraps that are compost friendly. I then dig a hole in the pile & bury the scraps.Spring time I roll over the pile, & put ie on the garden & then plant. I also put compost around the new plants. The compost feeds the plant, blocks sun from the weed seeds, & hold moisture for the plants, from due, rain & watering so less water is needed because the sun can't dry the soil out. Don't put these in your garden; Red meat Grease & oils Lots of citrus scraps Branched & twigs Weeds Good for composte; Coffee grounds Lawn scraps Egg shells Chicken manure Chicken scraps Peelings from veggies Fish entrails head included Wood ashes sprinkled on This is a sure way to make your plants thrive! 👍😁

Whole eggshells take many years to break down, if at all. Even crushed shells take years to break down enough to a form where the nutrients can be absorbed by the roots of a plant. Whole or crushed eggshells do not leach any significant amount of calcium into the soil. The best use for them is to rinse them, dry thoroughly, crush them then add to a spice or coffee grinder and pulverize them to a powder. Then add to your compost pile or spread in the garden as another amendment to help NEXT YEAR'S growth. Much better and easier to apply bagged organic fertilizer for current year's garden.

LIGHT BULB!!! yall Easter is around the corner...Oh wow!!! Loving this aha moment. I knew this about eggs and farming, except for the boiling part and all, so simple. I never put the two together, God is good, I so used to over think and make things so much harder on myself. Lol. good Friday, Pentecost, the passover or what is it for the Jewish. Not really sure on all the different culture and religion fasting that takes place. I am pentecostal born and raised.. I love to take interest in in different religion, guess i always knew there is only One..One love, one life, one way,, one salvation, one choice and many chances. Easter being one more action of How God Loves us. He gives and gives..Eggs, seeds, creation is all we ever needed..God is all we need 🐣. THANK YOU LORD 😊 🙏 😘 ☺ 💞 I love how all this works too, such a wonderment of life. Well one of many beautiful creations, all things natural make good harvest, all things of God. Shoot, we came from the dirt, and breath of God and life began.. Just treat the seeds and plants as loving. And as natural as you expect it to bring in your work, therefore bringing nourishment back to you and your family..and back around again. God's lessons, we must learn these things. Wax on wax off. 😂🤣💯🙏🙌💞😍 Of God's works and plan, we blossom and become abundant. ♥ faith hope..prayer water and light. Believe he can, will, and does provide and you will prevail. Teach a man to fish, teach a man to reap what he sows. Aha. Eggs are chickens babies our food and nutrition to the soil and our bodies..from dirt the chicken eats..back to the dirt God provides for the chicken.

Egg shells contain a ton of Calcium and nutrients needed for garden plants. I keep them in a mason jar and shake to jar to break them ever so often. Then sprinkle them about a 1 foot circle around the root . It has always worked great for me. I'm not sure of the whole egg or if we meant the egg should be broken first. I probably do a test next spring with four or so plants to see the difference.

This method of sprinkling the egg shells around your plants, is also beneficial to keep crawling insects away from plants &seedlings, as it cuts their skin, and is sharp, so they don't like to slide across it! Happy gardening from Australia!!

My sister told my mother to do this a couple years ago. At the end of the season, we were pulling up the tomato plants, and the egg came up (fully intact) with the plant. As we were discarding the waste, the egg broke. I wouldn't recommend being around a six month old egg that had been buried. The smell was horrendous and very strong. And we will never do it again. If you do it, is advise at least cracking the shell, if not breaking it completely open. We saw no degradation of the shell at all over that period in the ground, and no difference in the plants.

We raise free range chickens and always have extra eggs. These are always welcome gifts to friends. I have been using egg shells in my garden for years - most typically around the tomatoes as they are prone to calcium deficiency. My wife is very patient with me in saving these shells. To me, the finer the are crushed, the better the calcium will be released. One word of warning - do not put them in you nutrabullet or more expensive vitamix. I learned that the hard way. They are very abrasive and will permanently etch the container. It will continue to work. It will just make the carraff permanently foggy. We have a container on the counter that fills slowly with shells. It never develops a smell. As they dry, they crush much more easily. When it is full, I push the shells down with my hand leaving 3/4s or more of the container empty. When I can no longer crush it down, I empty in on the garden. There are so many organic nutrients you can get to supplement your garden for free. Starbuck will give you as many coffee grounds as you want - just ask at the counter - I have gotten garbage bags full of them - you will get some used filters as well - you can pick them out or let them decompose. Starbuck actually has information on the nutrient value of coffee grounds for you garden. As your neighbors labor to rake and bag there tree leaves - take advantage of this free gift and dump them on your fall garden bed - if they bag their grass clippings - even better - mix the two. Fall leaves alone will decompose and add a lot of nutrients to your soil - but you will need to add nitrogen source if brown leaves is all you have. In my particular gardening situation, I would be wary of burying an egg. We have a variety of critter - racoons, armadillos, foxes, etc that seem to be able to smell and dig for food even if buried deep in the soil. I have replanted several Indian "3 sisters gardens" after burying a fish a foot or more deep at the bottom of my planting hole. Organic fertilizers are the only thing I use - but you learn some funny lessons when you use them. For instance my dogs love Dr. Earth Fertilizer so much that they will eat the dirt after I have tilled it in. Lesson number 100 - keep dogs away from the garden for a couple week after tilling in Dr. Earth. Out of interest, I am going to try the entire egg - somewhere - and see what happens. We have plenty of extras.
