But they should have degrees to teach our future generation. But a bus driver earns only around 30k. And still have to deal with a lot of crap. Those are who need a raise.
For dropping a kid off far from the side walk where traffic is between the bus & kids… 😂 no I don’t think so…. She is top 10 worst bus drivers. Be honest would u let her drive ur kid’s? They wouldn’t be in tht situation if she didn’t stop dangerously.

They did that to physically block traffic behind them so only oncoming traffic was was the issue. This driver is allot more observant than the bus drivers we ever had growing up since she used her rear view mirror before the kid got off the bus.
In the UK cars can pass school buses when they stop. We have natural selection for children that backwards. Did you notice he didn't look even though 3 seconds before he almost died because he didn't look forst. 🤦

@@pj2jGz354XTReABThe comment was completely clear, but I’ll break it down even further: A car drove past the school bus despite the sign telling cars to stop while children disembark. The OP is saying that almost nothing justifies running over kids. Stop when the bus stops.
@@Vent_YTI mean considering the distance the car was from the bus he would have probably just barely missed the car and have been fine if she hadn't intervened
It's also why bus drivers don't and shouldn't drop you off outside of designated bus stops. It doesn't matter if the traffic appears gridlocked or you missed your stop. They'd be held accountable if something bad happened.

I had the same bus driver for every year of school and she was the best. I will remember her for as long as I live. It's a thankless job, but I made sure she knew I was thankful.
Well done for letting her know. When you're a kid, it's easy to forget the "supporting staff" surrounding you. I remember when I was like 11, I occasionally had some short, friendly chats with an elderly cleaning lady at school (no idea how it started, as I was generally a pretty bratty, self-centered kid). A few years later, when she retired, she gave me a card, a small gift and gave me a hug. I had no idea how much those small interactions meant to her. It wasn't until I became an adult with a job that I fully realised the importance of getting recognized, not only for the job you do, but also for the human being you are behind the job.
I remember being the only kid who would say thank you every day for when we got off at my stop in hs, I tried being really nice because I had terrible drivers all throughout mid and elementary and appreciated when they didn’t hit speed bumps doing like 35+ and yell at us for screaming. One I had, the man told all us like ~10 year olds that the bus wont work because we’re too loud, let us off on the side of the road outside a plaza and drove off after a couple minutes. We had a diff driver and bus number every week after that.
when i was in kindergarten my bus number had changed but i didnt know so i got on the old one, i wasn’t the only one some other kids were also lost, the bus driver drove us all to the apartments (even though it was completely out of her route) made sure we all knew our new bus number met the new driver and waited till our parents got us, bus drivers deserve so much more
i used to have this bus driver where the kids ended up getting so chaotic, the bus driver assigned seats and made everyone stay quiet and in their seats. no one ever listened, to be honest so she gave up. this was in elementary and ill admit, i didnt listen to the staying in the assigned seats. i thought it was stupid since we never had assigned seats before. all i ever did was go straight toward my friend in the back of the bus and we would pull out our stuffed animals and would play with thoses till either we got to school, or one of us had to go. i wouldve been able ti stay in touch with her, had i not mover a good 20-30 minutes away from where i once lived. i miss playing with you, Rowan, and i still remember how to spell your name correctly! i remember how when you asked me how it was spelt, you said i was the first person to get it right the first time. do you remember Ms. Myers from Target class? where we learned how to play chess, how to write hyroglyphics, how to do a bit of algerba? what about Abby? or Emory? what about Gavin and Mariana? i remember how me and Emory started "creeper club" because we both loved minecraft. do you remember Slush, Rowan? he used to be so bold. now hes scared more often, maybe because i accidentally left him in the corner of my room for a year! hah! i remember how your house had a pool in your back yard. i remember how right before your stop in the mornings, i would awe at your neighbor's christmas decoations on their yard. i miss those days. i hope i can see you again some day, Rowan.
It happened in a matter of seconds. We have hindsight and know what's gonna happened before we watched, so it's easy to say that from here. But in the moment, when he's done this everyday 5 days a week all year, it's easy to space out. Luckily the bus driver wasn't.

My bus driver once called my name to give me a whole box of chocolates bc i was one of the quiet and good kids (most kids that sat at the back keeps starting fights) I usually just go on the bus, pick one of the front seats, go to sleep and try not to interfere with the back fights. The bus driver didn’t even care, she was just doing her job. The thing that shocked me the most is that she called my name correctly on first try. I’ve NEVER met anybody that does that. Plus, my name is extremely uncommon and most people makes fun of my name. I can tell that’s one good busdriver
Kinda related but I remember my bus driver as a kid got quite annoyed at the feet in the aisle thing. He then purposed a competition in which he would buy us pizza if we didn’t do it anymore. We obliged for a few days, no pizza. Eventually I assumed he was just lying to get us to do the aisle thing. However little did I know one day I would just see a stack of pizzas at the front of the bus. He did follow through on that promise and he got in trouble for it but said it was worth it. What bus let's off a kid in the middle of a road? Shouldn't it be by the sidewalk? Also it seems like only 3 seconds from the point of stop to opening the door, I dunno if this was the save it should have been. Thoughts? Not sure how it is in the states, but I know in Canada, they don't let kids off on the street, it's the sidewalk.
Its not the cars fault, your supposed to stop when the bus puts out its stop sign, but if you look in the video t tells you when its put out, and it was only like 0.2s before the car passed by which means the other car probably didnt have enough time to react. I would have to say its more likely the kids fault for being impatient.
@@WhereAmITheBook thats almost as good as saying the guy who jumped off the roof died, not because its his fault is cuz gravity exist. The kid should be taught to look out for cars, its one of the most basic things to learn when crossing the street. Obviously its not the kids fault but their parent and guardians around them failing to educate on safety, as well as the fact that the kid was already out of his seat while bus was still in motion. Also from what I learned in driving is that regardless what other do its always necssaary to pay attention to what you do could possible endanger you. You can't stop someone from speeding 100 mphs down the road but you could always stop yourself from being in their way as they do stupid things like that.
@@SoupTurtle16 I don't know how buses might function in other countries, but at least here in Canada, when the bus slows down before a stop, a stop sign comes out and lights flash, all before the bus is even stopped. Unless the video was mirrored or anything (or I'm just wrong), it looks like you drive on the left side of the road, so it's definitely not North America, so things might be different. Edit: I just carefully rewatched it and the car is going forwards with the bus, so its not left side driving, but its kinda weird how there's a gap in between the bus and the stop. Normally it should be on the side of the road, but its not for some reason here.
@@EmeraldPencil46 I understand what your talking about but if you look in the video it tells you exactly what actions are done by the driver. And you look at the top left and the video the car drove by 0.2 seconds after the stop sign was released. So the bus driver did not release the stop sign before the bus even came to a full stop. Notice the "Stop Arm" term on the top left of the video. Yeah that big gap is also very weird, making it seem like the bus was om the left lane. But in amother comment a person pointed out that it was probably the shoulder of the road, which mean the driver just decided to speed pass on a shoulder, which was unthinkable to me. So I'm probably wrong for giving the driver benefit of the doubt.
This actually happened to me once, I was getting off my bus in high school when my bus driver shouted at my to stop when I was walking in the street and by the time I could look back at her a car came flying by me. I thanked her profusely for being so vigilant and potentially saving my life
