4th album by The Hollies. despite that it's a good listen, it was rather hastily compiled by Imperial Records to capitalize on the success of the group's single: Bus Stop. The songs stem from as far as 1964 from their debut LP, also another thing is the redundancy of Oriental Sadness in there when it was already featured in the previous LP Beat Group, so i removed it. plz like comment and subscribe :)

This album is one of the best examples of early 60's British Beat there is. Very little overdubbing I would think. "This is what we sound like!!". Great Record!

I fell in love with "Baby That's All!" when I gave this album a listen as I was doing a round of cleaning.

This is the first time I've heard this cover of the Simon & Garfunkel song "I'm a Rock". Excellent. Liked it a lot. I may even prefer it to the original.

Graham Nash has said the Hollies were very unhappy with the way Imperial treated them. That's why they moved to Epic in 1967. The Bus Stop LP is a hodgepodge of older album tracks and some single sides that never appeared before on any USA Imperial album. It's strange that Oriental Sadness was used again, I guess someone at Imperial liked the song, but there were a few b-sides and the entire "In The Hollies Style" Parlophone LP (that has never been released in the USA) they could have used instead.

They weren't the only British Invasion band unhappy with how the American record companies treated their music. Cut and pasting songs from different British albums to compile extra American releases.

USA record companies thought the British Invasion was going to be a quick fad so they rushed out new albums, many times 2 or 3 a year. I've read that the Beatles "Butcher Cover" photo was their reaction to Capitol doing that.

Title track is the only really good track. With Baby That's All a good track. But the rest is all drek. And kids in the 1990 and 2000's were complaining about albums with only one or two good songs. They don't realize it's always been way from the beginning of rock and of roll.
