Buses, Coaches & Trams in the West End of Edinburgh, in Scotland | November 2019

Hi, here's a video of the buses, coaches and trams passing by in the West End of Edinburgh, on the 1st of November 2019.
I know the first few buses or whatever aren't in the West End, but most of the video is once I moved along Princes Street.
If you like Volvo buses, Edinburgh is honestly the place to visit in the UK! They have BRLHs, B5LHs, B5TLs, B7RLEs, B7TLs, B8Ls, B8Rs, B8RLEs and B9TLs!! In fact, the only vehicles in Lothian's fleet that aren't Volvos are the ADL E400s on the 10, and the practically non-existent batch of Wright Streetairs (which I've read are so unreliable, they are the main reason Lothian decided to turn back to ADL for the batch of new double deckers - which was before Wright went bankrupt)! Although, who knows now Wright is back, whether Lothian might turn back to them for a new batch of Volvo chassis'd single deckers (I can't see them getting any E200s if I'm honest).
Also in this video are First showing off their services that run to the West of Edinburgh - predominantly with a fleet of Streetlites.
Stagecoach can be seen on the coach scene, plus a variety of other operators.

Thanks for putting this up for me to watch and reminisce. As a wee boy in the 1950’s I remember the double deck trams , not only on Princes Street but throughout Edinburgh. Cheers from Melbourne, Australia.

Oh no! I read the pinned comment way too late, and now I have to watch the whole thing again! 😭😂 It was fun trying to guess what depot each bus was going to be from! It was nice that the text was able to make the different Lothian branches clearer (like how there's also Lothian Country Buses), but it was hard to read it all without pausing though. I prefer the interior of those 11reg Gemini 2s compared to the older ones, but I spent most of the video keeping my eyes open for those LX11s

Ah noooo! Well, thanks for watching it twice 🤣 I think I found it fun guessing the depots in real life too lol, though the depots for some routes still surprises me, such as Marine on the 25.. Yeah, I thought it might be hard to do it without pausing, but I don't really know how I'd include the info otherwise ;) Same, the interior on the 11 plate ones is actually beautiful - it's my favourite interior version (same as the E400s and SA15 B5LHs) lol I'm glad I managed to get two LX11s, otherwise you'd have almost given up hope till the last bus came 😂

Lol, it'll help increase your Watch Time in your channel analytics! Do Lothian allocations stray across different routes from different garages? Like, is it more likely for a route to get a bus from a different depot to what it should be? Also, yeah - it's either you add more information at the cost of having to pause, or you condense the information but miss out on some details. I reckon maybe, for less busier times, it'd be easier to have more information since you can make the caption last longer, but you might end up with less variety than when it's busier. And also, without the captions, I really had lost hope until I noticed the last bus was ZF. lol

True - the watch time 😅 Tbh I'm not particularly sure, but they all seemed fairly structural in terms of allocating routes to the separate garages. I think East Coast share buses on their routes between MU & NB, but the only Lothian City example that springs to mind is how I saw a few LS buses on the 25. It wouldn't surprise me if the 25 is operated from MA and partly from LS because it is such a wide spanning route across the city from Northeast to the Southwest. Yeah, that's really true, it's hard to read it all when loads of buses come at the same time lol I think the 4 in the middle of the video was a little subtle, but I guess you have to look for the double doors :P
