I have never given it a thought to plant beans in August. And I do believe I could get away with it here in Massachusetts if I started in early August. Excellent video my friend and I am a new subscriber to your channel. Thanks for sharing.

MA and IL are kind of similar. I plant cucumbers, peas, beans a couple times per year. That way if any problems I just pull the bad plants because I have new ones online. Cucumbers are the biggest culprits, humidity caused powdery mildew so rather than fight it i just pop new seeds in the ground every 3-4 weeks.

Thanks for commenting. I will try my best to create episodes worth investing your time on. In fact, I have a huge announcement coming in the next day or two, which is why I have not uploaded a new episode in the last week or so. The good news is lots more episodes coming over the next few months. Maybe a new garden? New adventures? Check out the next episode....

I am currently growing croket bush green beans for the fall. I typically plant our beans in a wide row fashion. The area planted into is about as wide as a garden how. Thank you for your great information.

You can if you have strong lights. Since they are a fruiting plant they are more difficult than non fruiting. Make sure to use a fan for air flow.

Did you use one seed per hole and do I have to soak them first in that stuff you mentioned before I plant them. Also how often do I water the ? I don’t have an irrigation syst3n
@CustomGardenSolutions
@CustomGardenSolutions 3 года назад
One seed per hole should be fine. You also do not have to inoculate it's totally optional but I do it for the benefits that were outlined in the video. Watering depends on humidity, temperature, amount of sunlight, etc. Keep the soil slightly moist. Once the plants grow a little bit and provide a canopy their leaves will shade the ground and you will have to water less.

What month should I plant? (I live in northern Iowa)
@CustomGardenSolutions

Basil likes warm but not too hot. Check your seed pak for details on the specific seed. I plant mine indoors so that I don't have to worry about bugs and washing.

My beans are only getting around 3 inches long? How long should they get? My plants seem really tiny.
@CustomGardenSolutions
@CustomGardenSolutions 3 года назад
Depends on how big you want them. Mine typically or anywhere from 5 to 6 in long to 7 or 8 inches long. For my taste I like them a little bit smaller. Are the plants a dark green and are the leaves healthy looking? If so just give him a little bit more time.
@CustomGardenSolutions
@CustomGardenSolutions 3 года назад
You can pick a few and see how they taste. Also you want to continually harvest once they get to the size that you prefer. That sends a signal to the plant to keep pushing out new beans. That is a short version of the story.

Can I grow beans when it's rainy season..?
@CustomGardenSolutions
@CustomGardenSolutions 3 года назад
Sure you can grow beans during the rainy season. The beans will germinate better in warmer weather. So make sure your temperature is at least in the 60s and you should be fine. Not sure what you mean by the rainy season though, in the United States most areas can grow beans as long as the temperatures warm enough. If you have super high humidity you might want to Make sure that you space your plants so that they have enough room to breathe so that mold and other issues aren't a problem. Thanks for commenting.

You can eat them raw but I have read that eating too many raw might not be good for you. You'd have to look it up for yourself.
