I still use Coleman dual fuel stove. Over 20 years old overhauled once. It’s gold. Forgotten beast of cooking

The topic of land rovers not starting made me feel the need to share this. My series 3 LR killed a starter on a green lane day here in the uk and I had no choice but to get creative. I had to jump the solenoid every time I started it cos the exciter was dead in it. Very nearly got arrested by a local copper for trying to steal my own car. Very funny conversation with him about motor theft 😂

What an awesome chat, waiting for Ronny n the boys to do the Canning next year in the Ineos with Geoff/Jeff. In regards to Gazetted it is also about being insured. Fun fact some beaches are classed as roads, not sure if they are gazetted but you are able to be fined and charged by the Police. Not sure if this is the same as the rest of the states n 1:08:16 territories

I almost resented LR upon releasing the new defender. Over time it has grown on me albeit i'd get one in a very basic spec with cloth seats, coil springs, steelies, etc. I found it still could have a place in my life along side my Classic Defender. But for almost the same money, I'd look at the Ineos or for far less I'd just get a hilux or used patrol, or 70 series spend a few money on basic mods and fuel and just enjoy the rest of my life. And also maybe a few more old land rovers and just keep fixing them.

I have the last of the original shape. I also drove the new one and a discovery 4. The new one is very similar to Disco ie very luxurious, there is no comparison or resemblance to Defender unfortunately. Totally understand why they went that way. They chose the luxury market sell more and I think they are having success with it in that respect. My son is a mechanic and he just bought a brand new Jimny XL 5 door because it is the only simple 4WD you can buy these days other than 79 series and maybe the mahindra. That Jimny absolutely rocks off road!

New Defender. No real relationship with the old one. LR fanatic, 4x4 trainer, Masters in electronics and years in IT. But as the guy at LR said "you're not normal". The new Def is not aimed at us. Grenadier is closer to an updated old Defender. Also I use the Sony noise cancelling in ear headphones when doing longer trips in my 90 V8.

Nice work fellas i look forward to this every week. I have a new defender and absolutely love it on and off road. I also understand the criticism/concern regarding their complexity. For me if i keep the vehicle long term, i will need to spend time to understand the vehicles systems and also invest in a gap iid tool (advanced obd2 tool). As a contrast, i also have a gu patrol which i love also but is worlds apart from the defender. Keep up the good work. Cheers
