Thanks for taking me with you today. I could feel every turn. I landed my V Tail Bonanza on grass once, kinda bumpy. I didn’t see the tubes until you mentioned them and I rewatched the flight. Yup, they were there the second time! Again, thanks from an old pilot.

I'm colorblind, so I abandoned my dreams of flying for a living a long time ago. Your videos renewed my interest in aviation, and I am starting my training for a PPL tomorrow at the age of 25. Thank you for showing your experiences with flying :)

Look up on AOPA about options for colorblind. You can go into FSDO and do actual test. Otherwise you might just be restricted to day time flying.

Go for it you guys!! Colourblind PPL here, also wanted to fly commercially until the colourblind part cut things short at an early stage. I enjoy flying privately in Europe while wondering whether the commercial route really would have been for me anyway. In life, one door closes another opens.. Enjoy your flying in whatever capacity, it's a wonderful thing!!! 😃
@traviswalker7233
@traviswalker7233 2 года назад
@@trbeme1346 Definitely! I've been looking at the alternate tests the FAA allows. I'm hoping I get a shot at the light signal gun test at the FSDO sometime... You get one chance at the test. If I were to fail, no big deal. I would be happy with a daytime only PPL

Since I got cancer I spend most of my time inside. That’s been a radical change for me. I used to spend as much time outside as I possibly could. This video was a pleasure to watch. I tried to put myself in your seat watching the terrain and enjoying the bird’s eye view. I took enough lessons to have accumulated 40 hours of time, I just never took the test. This reminds me I should have finished.

I really liked the POV of flying! It would be really cool to hear audio of you doing a check list/ start up/ and take off at the same time as well... details is great in all of that. Also the typical content is awesome when flying to destination to destination. But when it comes to your airplane specifics to taking off and landing is also a really nice touch to mix in. Keep up the great work Trent.

Hi Trent, i loved this POV style video! As a private pilot myself from Germany, I am kind of jealous about your possibilities to do outdoor landings! Here in Germany, thats almost impossible and "streng verboten" most of the time, if you are not a paraglider or balloon pilot (or an ultralight pilot, but also just in limited spots and by an early permission of the local air surveillance). Greetings from Osnabrueck in Lower Saxony, Germany

Trent, I like the down drainage egresses. Consider high altitude and heavy load to make it more realistically needed. Try energy management of the law of the roller coaster. Energy management is a bit harder to teach in a high power to weight airplane, but works the same. Use your zoom reserve in airspeed to pitch up a bit on seeing the need for a turn. Up wings level and when the target curves, bank to stay on target while allowing the nose to go down naturally. Once you get the rhythm down you will find it to be very comfortable. Also there is no fear of accelerated stall as you are always releasing the back pressure of the zoom up when you bank. You always unload the wing. There will be altitude loss in steep turns so you might pitch up a bit more wings level prior to a big bend in the target. As always, without zoom reserve in airspeed there should be no pitch up. Just allow the nose to go down int the turn.
@jimmydulin928
@jimmydulin928 2 года назад
Also using the vertical space as well as horizontal, energy management, the radius of turn is less. Very helpful in a tight valley with little horizontal space available. Target is always the bottom of the drainage and we want to bank enough to get the turn mostly done early so we can level the wing prior to pull up. Graveyard spiral is as dangerous as stall.

I loved it, thank you. It brings me back to somewhere in no longer at. I'm back in the high desert scenery of Wyoming but sitting here at home in Texas. I worked on a pipeline that follows the east ridge of the Flaming Gorge and it was the most magical place I've ever been. I've been all over the country but nothing compares to the high desert. I grew up in the piney woods of Texas but have been to 29 states and the views from a high desert is the best. I've camped in the cascades during spring thaw when we were the only ones on the mountain and every rock held a waterfall. It still couldn't compete.
