On Sunday September 3rd 2017, we head over to the Bush Tramway Club located 12km west of Huntly, the club operates over 5.8km of the original railway line that ran up to Glen Afton. The railway runs ex-bush tramway and industrial steam locomotives and/or diesel shunters every first Sunday of the month from April to December each year. This particular day sees Peckett no. 1630 steaming along the north section of the railway, sharing duties with the two ex-Meremere NZ Electricity Drewey diesel shunters which operated on the Glen Afton side of Pukemiro Junction, the home base of the club. The newly restored Mamaku bush jigger was also giving rides to the public in between train trips, enjoy the sight of rails in the Waikato wilderness at its finest!
