Good to see someone share an attempt at fire lighting that didn't work. I'm a college tutor and I always tell my students you learn more from your failures than successes. In your case you realised you needed to go and find dry Spruce and it worked the second time. Problem solving. That's a much more valuable lesson than just seeing edited highlights of the times it worked perfectly. Thank you.
Looks like an awesome place for winter camping. I really need to get ger off my butt and get out more. I would have to say autumn and winter are my favorite seasons to be outside.
The silence of the woods is so relaxing and im sure you apreciate the worlderness more now, i remember you first starting out with your boyfriend and i hope your both doing well now and it is so good to see the younger generation taking an intrest in bushcraft, i wish you well
Thank you! There's no point in acting like everything always goes perfectly out there. Even people way more skilled than me screw up, if they don't show it then they're only fooling themselves :)
Alexis, You're an inspiration for anyone looking to get into survival or anything outdoors. I love your positivity and your willingness to share knowledge in a way that makes the viewer feel like they're hanging out with you. Also, your dog is cool as hell. Stay safe out there and keep it comin'!
Great video. Nature is beautiful, similar to the nature of our Siberia, the same forest and the same sounds. You're doing great. / Отличное видео. Природа прекрасна, похожа на природу нашей Сибири, такой же лес и те же звуки. Вы молодец.
The look on Grizz’s face when you called him into the tarp to lay down but on the ground and not on the tarp , “well how come you get to sit on the tarp and I don’t” 😂 bless him ! Another awesome vid Alexis 👍 How’s the weather over there atm , many mosquitos about still? Over here in England we’ve got sunshine/heavy rain , heavy rain/sunshine , sunshine/heavy rai............ you get the idea! Take care 👍❤️🇬🇧
Good to see you back!! Exploring new woods is always a good thing!!! Grizz is looking great, loved the way you started the video of with a case of the Zoomies!! Thanks for sharing the video - always look forward to them.
I live on Vancouver Island bc. Victoria. This would be the best place in Canada to live off grid or have land plus a log cabin home. Stays warm all year. Doesn't snow really.
I had a dog like that years ago he went to the woods with me all the time he was the best dog I know you are enjoying your time out there ,no place like the woods
Love the beauty and craftsmanship of that bucksaw, I will use your link when I buy one. Thanks for another great video... Looks Like a Great Time out in the woods.
HI ALEXIS ! GLAD YOU & GRIZZ ARE DOING GOOD . GRIZZ LOOKS HAPPY & BACK TO HIMSELF! AMEN TO THAT ! HOW MUCH WAS / IS THE BUCK SAW / WHAT'S IT MADE OUT OF ! GORGEOUS AREA LIKE HOW THERE'S NOT MUCH UNDER GROWTH WHERE YOU'RE. BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL & THE GRIZZ ALWAYS ON YOUR JOURNEYS ! THANK YOU ! ENJOYED !
@@careenaalexis Definitely, its not only built better and last way longer, but it also passes a skill or trade onto the future outdoorsmen, and outdoorladies. To have a talent to be able to make something that could in the right circumstances save someone's life, or let an individual survive on there own in our beautiful world is really priceless, and a necessity. Anyway keep up the awesome vids, and thank you for commenting me back thats awesome and your awesome and keep up the good work. Have a great evening. P.S. Corona Rocks, the beverage not the disease.
Beautiful forest, natural silence, the crackle of wood and the warmth of the fire, camping food it is always beautiful, what else do you need for happiness? Videos like yours are very motivating to take a backpack off the shelf and go wandering through the forest trails. And I am one of those people who became involved in tourism after watching a video on RU-vid. And you continue to draw me into this hobby more and more..... Thank you for the pleasant atmosphere.
Little late in finding your videos. I usually put my headphones in. It’s awesome listening to Grizz in stereo. I love a happy dog in the woods. I have a Golden who loves to hike and easily out-hikes me any day. Thank you for these videos. Beautiful country.
Alexis, you are a high value partner for the coming storm! Strong, smart, deliberate and obviously experienced. love your dog, good animal to have as company I'm sure. A few more efficient ways to accomplish some tasks but overall very sound. Stay strong and keep learning!
Kia ora Alexis, your knowledge of bush craft is delightful to watch especially here in New Zealand where we as Maori natives thrive on living of the land and what we call ruff living. Being one with mother nature is a blessing and to have a clever dog like grizz has to be a bonus. Love your energy, your dedication and everything else revolving around camping. Great mahi (work).
I really like that tarp setup, never thought to use a ridge line to hold the front of the tarp, now I have to go out and try this. And I am really envious of all the hammock trees you have, that is a great looking area with lots of level areas. Great video, thanks
I’ve been camping all over Ontario this summer, Lake Simcoe, Algonquin park, Remi Lake in Northern Ontario & Lake Nipigon. Ontario really has some vast amazing wilderness.
Very cool😎 2 see a beautiful lady in the great outdoors. doin wht she does. most women u couldn't build a 5 star motel right there in middle of those woods. & they still woudnt come. Cause its off the Beaten path. Galavant on 🇨🇦 lady. Frm a Mtn Man in 🇺🇲 tht is a great looking shepherd
Thanks for showing a difficult fire start. Most RU-vidrs only show a single strike, and bang, there's your fire. Good to see a fire start which is more realistic.
... for only one night ???? That would't get fun and no enjoy for me. But I love her dog. He looks like a half German-sheper-dog. Greetings from germany 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪👍🏻.
Pretty cool. Like the setup, like the 🐕, and like that you go out on your own and get it done. My wife and I have been canoe camping for 43 years and still love it. Thanks for sharing. Your great!!👍
just A Quick note to tell you the joy your videos bring me as i can no longer camp due to poor health but you and Grizz make it easier! bless you with happiness and good health. and thank you Grizz.
Another great video. Watching your channel gets me out in the bush more than I have of late. Thanks for your positive thoughts and bushcraft education which has gotten me out in the bush more.
We thank you because you shared with us this wonderful experience, really. Natural life has a special taste that people who have not tried living in forests do not know. You are wonderful and you have a wonderful taste.
Well done Alexis, excellent video. Sincerely appreciate the genuine aspect of your video, showing the failed attempts of fire starting and what you did to resolve the issues. Also love the times with your pup, great job! Keep up the wonderful work, I'm sure you're inspiring women around the globe to get out and explore the beautiful nature and landscape around them. Blessings!
your amazing. me and my buddys have been winter camping for years, its always hard to have someone else willing to come along. its awesome to see more people doing this let alone a women. awesome videos
