Dr Alan Green from the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre at the University of Wollongong discusses his PhD research on Bushfire Sprinkler systems at the Blue Mountains Planetary Health Centre's Water Symposium: Future Proofing with Circular Water on Friday 26 July 2024. The Symposium addressed the urgent need to collect, clean and re-use all water to reduce the risks of future extreme weather events turning into disasters. His presentation included a description of the Bushfire Sprinkler system designed for the Planetary Health Centre.

The Circular Water Demonstration site was built at the Planetary Health Centre as part of a Bioregional Collaboration for Planetary Health and was supported by the Disaster Risk Reduction Fund (DRRF). The DRRF is jointly funded by the Australian and New South Wales governments.
