This was a fun adventure and some good experience for my son. The waterfall was pretty neat. I plan on stopping by again some day to get a closer look and climb down there a little farther. Thanks for watching, my friend!
It is amazing how fast they grow up! Back on those early hikes he would get tired and want me to carry him, now he is running up the mountains. Pretty soon I won't be able to keep up! Thanks so much for watching, my friend!
2018 was one of the rainiest years on record for my area, so all our creeks and rivers are flowing nicely. Thanks so much for checking out my video. As always I really appreciate your support!
Thank you. Yes its a really interesting place. Was so nice to have my son with me again, we hadn't hiked together in several months. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much, my friend! Yeah it is fun to find things in photos/maps and then go out and confirm their existence. It does not always work out so well though...I have found some cool stuff over the years, but I've also bushwhacked to plenty of things that turned out to be shadows and optical illusions, or things that changed because I was looking at outdated imagery LOL! Sometimes you never know.
Thanks so much for watching, my friend. Yeah this one was a little challenge since I had my young son with me. Had I been alone it would not have been too bad. It's a neat spot I hope to explore further in the future. Thanks again for checking it out!
It was a neat waterfall, definitely worth a look. I know of so many interesting features like this without trails, just have to make the effort to find them. The road in that area clings to the mountain in some very steep terrain above the river, simply constructing parking for a trail head would cost tens of thousands of dollars I am sure. Thanks so much for watching!
It's a really neat spot! I've been by here hundreds of times and never thought much about it. Found it by chance while I was looking at aerial images for a completely different purpose. Thanks for checking out my video, I really appreciate it!
We had a good time and it was a neat spot to investigate. Thanks so much for watching, and thank you for the well wishes. I hope you and your family have a fantastic 2019 too, my friend!
It was awesome to share this spot with my boy. He loved it. This was part of a multi-stop day we did back at the end of December. It's a cool spot, I'll make another visit next time I am over there so I can take a closer look around down there. Thanks for watching, my friend!
What a beautiful spot, thanks for taking me along. Must be fun to go bushwhacking with the boy, he looked like enjoyed it and didn't complain once. Happy New year brother and I'm still in love with Virginia :D
Thanks so much for watching, my friend! Yeah it was a neat spot. I've been teaching my boy that trails are simply "suggested" routes LOL. The only time he complains is when I tell him its time to go home. Happy New Year to you too, brother!
That is really unusual for a water fall that nice to not have a name. You may have stumbled onto a location very few people know about. Definitely took some bushwhacking to get in and out of there. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Thanks for watching! Yes this spot is pretty unknown. Its located in an area that I know very well, yet even I only recently "found" the waterfall...I wasn't really looking for it, I was scanning some aerial photos of the area for a totally different purpose when I just happened to spot what looked like some big rocks and a possible waterfall. I was glad I went to have a look, really cool spot. Since I had my boy with me and I was watching out for him, made it tough to really explore fully down in there. I've been back by there a few times since but I have not had time to stop and hike down in there for a closer look.
Thank you so much for watching, my friend. Yeah it was neat to check out this area. We were not excited about the climb back out of there but oh well that's part of the deal, right?
I'm certainly blessed down here in Virginia, my friend. So many awesome places to check out, and of course its even better to share it with my son. Thanks so much for watching!
Yes it was a really neat spot. It was really steep close to the creek but overall not too bad. This one was not nearly as bad as some others I have attempted. It is a neat spot though. I'm in that area a lot so I'll stop by another time to take a closer look. Thanks for watching, my friend!
I stumbled upon this one while scanning aerial photos. I was researching the area for a completely different purpose, I wasn't even focused on the creek, but I noticed some big rocks and what looked like a waterfall big enough to be worth going to have a look. With all the rain we had just prior to my visit, I knew it would be the right time to check it out. It was a good experience for my boy too. Yeah as far as I can tell, neither the creek nor the falls are named. I like "Roses Falls." Maybe that name will stick LOL!
