I really enjoy the alfa pendular. I have been to Portugal two times, and have utilized it on both trips. The last time I did a Porto to Faro, about 6 hours on the train. What fun!!
What a fantastic, even if it was wet, way to see some of the Portuguese countryside. Train looked vey comfortable and well worth the extra cost, I’d say. Looking forward to your next adventure and hope it’s a bit drier for you, Dom
Not a proper "high-speed" service (speeds above 250km/h), but a "higher-speed" regular service. Portugal is planning to build a proper High-Speed line between Porto and Lisbon
Well 230km/h its not that far away so I think its fair to consider it as a high speed train, and the train is able to get 250km/h but it only operates at 220-230 km/h
The train is a beauty, as ive seen it in another video. Seats look luxurious, with a TV too. Scenery is not Scotland 😉 I have no idea what 220 km/h and 48 euros is, but it sounds good. Excellent video, and hope your sound has dried out now.
Was a very comfortable seat and I got quite a bit of kip in it. 😁 Converted its around, £43 and 140Mph. The sound was from the new GoPro, not really used to it but I'm working on a different sound solution that should be up and running shortly.
6:53 correction: Every train stops at lisboa oriente since its the 2nd biggest station in the country, the onyl reason it terminates at santa apolonia and not in lisboa oriente its bcs lisboa oriente does not has enough terminating platformas for that, else they woud therminate there
To be honest I didn't even check, I got there 45 mins before the train and it was so crowded for such a little building that I just tried to find a somewhat quite place to wait 😅 In hindsight I should have checked.
