Your technique is beautiful and thank you for the tips. But where I'm from an Americano is just espresso or (concentrated coffee) and water. A Latte is espresso and milk. As a barista for quite some time, I have never added sweetener unless the customer requests it. Sent with admiration & respect.

Hi! How long is the shelf life for these drinks? I've been in the cold brew business for around half a year but I've hesitated to sell drinks mixed with sugar or milk because I'm not sure of their shelf life.

Hello, the best would be to serve immediately when prepared with milk. If you intend to keep for long, better to keep them plain without milk. Make the milk drinks as and when ready to serve. Hope all going well with your cold brew business. Great future on that. :-)

Personally, the darker the better. Also, a blend of Arabica and Robusta if you would add milk into them.

Not particularly. If you use canned milk they should have long shelf lives but they just need to be refrigerated once opened.

Hello, it really depends on the size of the bottle. I try to avoid putting a lot of milk in the drink hence I use water instead of milk to fill a bottle. Similar to putting ice :-)

Good idea! Milk syrup can be kept refrigerated for at least 1 week. Mine lasts longer.

I’m planning on selling bottled cold brew as well but preferably with a longer shelf-life (room temp storage for easier transportation). Have you tried pasteurizing the cold brew while inside the bottles or using preservatives?

I wouldn't think they will last up to 2 weeks with milk. Without milk it could but must be refrigerated. With milk, shelf life is shorter. Hope these help.

I also have this concern, because the cold brew is good till 7 days the sweetened mixture expires in 3-5 days fresh milk for 7 days after opening. so how long is the mixture's shelf life? and what will happen if I mix a 4 day old sweetened milk to a new latte does that affect the overall shelf life of the mixture or its still 7 days? I don't know. :(

Hello, I usually for for 30:70 Robusta:Arabica. For iced drinks I prefer dark roast and Italian roast for hot drinks. But that's just me :-)

Hi Maam Chao..im using a big mason jar for my 2 Litter cold brew and putting the coffee grounds inside a cheesecloth teabag i made. My a bit of concern is if it is Ok NOT to put the mason jar in the fridge just in the room temparature for 16-24hrs, will it have an effect compared by putting it on a fridge during the brewing. Your videos are great I have tried cold brew with arabica dark roast and coarse grind ( already grounded) My cold brew was brewed for 16 hrs I find it was bitter it was not sweet much watery and it does not taste great I used ratio of 1:10

Thats because 1:10 its not a concentrate, thats a coffee already diluted for straight drink. 1:5, 1:7 its a real concentrate that companies like Starbucks use, remember to dilute it with water bc thats pretty strong.

As with anything, a longer shelf life would need preservatives or more production work and equipment. To achieve a shelf life of 3-6 months, you’ll have to consider heat pasteurization or high-pressure pasteurization. Both types of pasteurization would require machinery and may change the flavor of your coffee. It will also increase your overall costs but yes they will produce shelf-stable products. There are many available pasteurizer machine which you should be able to find in the market if this is the way you choose to go. Good luck!
