My business has been slow since I started it in October of 2023. I think I have gotten 15-20 orders total. Most days I want to give up and shut it down. I started my business as a way to cope with the anxiety and depression from having a heart attack and going into cardiac arrest two months after I gave birth to my sweet Daxton. I told myself it was time to live and do more of what makes me happy, but most days I’m discouraged and ready to just be like Elsa and let it go. Praying that we all see a huge increase in business.

Don’t give up. Just keep posting your stuff n improving your craft. I have not craft for an entire year due to health reasons but I am hoping that by September I will be able to get back to it.

Hi @SteffanyCrafts ... I think a lot of people are doing a lot of graduation type things. I don't think I saw any graduation type toppers on your site. Maybe I missed them. I'm sure you'd get tons of orders for them. Your stuff is so cute and very well made. The amount of time and effort you put into your projects definitely show in the end result! I just talked about this with my husband, how other small businesses are suffering too. At one point, I kept thinking no one liked what I make, that’s why sales are down. But I have to keep telling myself that others are going through too. Fortunately I still have another job, but it still sucks to have highs and lows throughout the year. Keep at it Steffany ❤

it's definitely this time of year EVERYONE is slow right now no matter what their business is selling, summer is always one of the slowest seasons kids are out of school and people are on vacations. It'll pick up again don't worry! just keep up with short form content and promoting your work!

Hi Steph, keep going - you’re doing great. Don’t mean to state the obvious but are you sure you’re making the most of monetising opportunities? There’s lots of RU-vid videos on this… maybe worth a revisit just in case you’ve missed something. Bear in mind that lots of large retail stores are reporting that April/ May figures are lower than expectations. You are not alone!

My business is slow too. I’m doing some local pop up markets and that is helping to bring some money in and move some inventory. I am trying to be smart about it and spend as little money as possible.

I feel you 100% not related to this particular niche but as a hairstylist my business has been SUPER SLOW like my clientele is not like it was and I’m trying figure out others ways supplement my income. SMH but just pray that things will get better.

@@janaebenton9330 It's actually going to get much worse before it gets better.. i am telliing people that the slowdown is for another 50-60 months, believe it or not. i was just talking to another client of mine and she is struggling as well and had to cut prices... sounds silly but if you can bake or make sourdough bread or anything remotely like that, i find that people still have money to buy that stuff because it is a type of comfort food for them they will even forgo starbucks! just look into it. can you make great cookies? cakes? also, sell what you don't need but honestly, there are many people around me baking now and i just got asked to bring in a sample of something i make! can't hurt!

@@SteffanyCrafts she runs Our Cheery Corner another small business. She does punch needle, stickers and dog keychains. She doesn’t have a TikTok shop but goes on live to direct traffic to her website. You should see how many orders she gets from that alone.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey. As a viewer and a “small business” myself, your content makes me feel connected to a loving community and strength and positivity to continue to push through the rough times. I currently have been struggling mentally this year and I have been trying to balance my life with a full time job and trying to get my business off the ground while trying to be the default parent at home. It’s a struggle that I feel my business gets the short end everytime. I am hopeful for an amazing 4th quarter though and to get out of this funk. Please keep doing what you do. You are very talented and such an inspiration. We got this ❤
