Wonderful. I didn't know this piece. Of course as a double reed player, my favorite Sibelius piece is Sawn/Tuonela. There are many professional orchestras that don't play this well. 😮
Wish I was there, you can't beat the physical presence to hear a piece like this.Sibelius was alive on the planet (just) when I was born and he has been over looked for along time,oh he drank to much(who doesn't when days are dark).Thank you for playing such a lovely moving piece.
These young people are the descendants of a regime known only for its inhuman repressive thuggery. They are a Phenix risen from the ashes. I have plenty of love for their spirit and natural ability to play music with the most important element of all, rhythm! The so-called western world of professional players can learn a lot here - hear!
I studied classical piano and jazz trumpet in England. Jazz taught me to play music with feeling the rhythm must have soul/feeling; soul comes from living as one with mother earth. Europeans do not respect the planet anymore they have no soul. If you have not already have a listen to Wynton Marsalis classical recordings (they have soul).
Después de buscar esta obra entre varias grabaciones, he encontrado ésta, con una sonoridad maravillosa que no tiene nada que envidiar a las grandes orquestas europeas. Emocionante ver y escuchar este orquesta de cuerdas.
Buskaid are performing this Friday night (24 Nov) at the Linder Auditorium in Parktown, Johannesburg and they are really worth coming to see live. The youth of this country have so much talent.
