@@nickrevalee5218 As of today, Sonic, Shadow, and Silver's Campaigns are completed and fixed (including the ball puzzle), and now they're working on fixing all the boss fights and the final campaign.
I asume it didnt perform well, financialy. But it had a lot of technicle issues, mostly server conectivity. Bundle it with gamplay balancing issues and slow content drops.
“Was the development team on crack!?” No, but they did completely lose a later build of the game that was shown off at E3 that year, and had to work from an earlier build, with only half their team because the other half was working on Secret Rings for the Wii. It was a behind the scenes shitshow
The reason why Sonic 06 is such a mess is because SEGA didn't give Sonic Team enough time for the development, they wanted the game to be released on the Christmas dates. That's the same excuse with some other games of the franchise, like with Forces. In resume, is SEGA's fault and that I don't agree that the idea of Sonic 06 is not necessarily bad, it just needed time to develop.
I do even believe that is the same reason that put Digimon in a coma multiple times, as Bandai didn't let themselves get enough time for development because they wanted to go with the Anime and Digimon Adventure, which caused the franchise eventual coma. Currently they are going through the better idea to ignore the Anime and Adventure, but TOEI is acting as a parasite for the franchise, as they don't want to made an Anime if it doesn't have Adventure or Taichi in it. That's why I hate TOEI and Digimon Adventure, because they are the main perpetrators that were never make paid for their crimes.
That's basically asking someone to move the moon, these games takes time, effort and talent. Just like building a skyscraper, what would happen if the rushed that?

37:58 yeh part of thee reason this game is so bad and glitchy is that first someone thought it was a good idea to split the development team in half to work on 2 sonic games instead of focusing on 1 and 2 they wanted 06 to comeout on sonic's birthday as an anniversary title which led to it being rushed and released in an mess of a state
And to add insult to injury Yuji Naka quit the team at the worst possible time of the game's development, and THEN took half the development team with him.

59:17 if you didn’t know, Sonic has already gotten two official movies done by Paramount in work with Sega, including a Knuckles spinoff (thought it's all live action people with CGI for the Sonic characters) The first was their version of Sonic 1 with his own backstory and how he ends up establishing his relation to Robotnik(Eggman) while the second incorporates Sonic 2 and 3&K with the introduction of Tails and Knuckles. The third movie that should come around the tail end of this year will focus on SA2 with the introduction of Shadow as he was teased in the end credits of the second movie.
@BusterSUB Amy, Rouge and Omega were integral parts to his character in SA2, so the fact no one else has been confirmed or teased means they really want to keep everything a secret for either the proper trailer or for the movie

also, one thing most sonic games have in common is the music is good the only one im not sure of is that sonic boom game, which i heard is way worse than 06
