I don’t understand how people in the comments are saying she fits in the stereotype?? She spoke very calmly and articulated herself well someone explain. People love to hate for no reason

People confuse strength and courage with anger sometimes

These comments prove her right. She was perfectly calm and rational in this video yet is still being demonized in the comments.

These comments, dear lord these comments.

Some are not Angry but a large majority are, stop blaming others for your own insecurities & actions.

You can be feminine and direct no need to be angry most of the time. Need to adapt your communication style to your audience as well.

Sometimes no matter what you say, it will mean nothing to people that don’t care. Talk to people that care instead. 😊

You can't break a stereotype if it is a fact. Truth, not stereotype. Every white person is entitled right? Is that truth or a stereotype? Can't have it both ways.

These comments are proof that racism will NEVER disappear. It's baked into being human.

If she wants to be a vibrant woman with a wide range of emotions, and thinks everyone needs to accept her anger and rude stares, then she needs to accept other peoples "vibrancy" when they decide that they don't like her.

People saying its not true it is i was once fired from a job for not smiling enough . I wasn't and less smiley than my white coworkers and im mixed .

So you can be rude and entitled to everyone you meet and when literally dozens of people are telling you it’s a problem you don’t have a good long look at your behaviour and fix it?? Foolish. People will be laughing behind your back and rolling their eyes and then refuse to be around you.

It obvious that a lot of people didn't even watch this video. They just came to air their griebances and prejudices.

I worked in a call center and there was a white male who would curse and yell at the callers. Then he would slam the phone down 5 times after each call and leave to go smoke. Management never corrected him. I told them his outburst made me uncomfortable and they began to correct me and suddenly I was the problem and I had the attitude. Even though the callers loved me. When I held people accountable I had a problem. And when callers had problems that required me to give them extra time, I took too long on my phone calls and have to stop trying to help people and just get off the phone. Quantity over Quality.

Notice when a woman has an ex she'll tell the next guy all negative things about her ex but give it time she'll show the new guy that she's the real reason her ex moved on with his life. They can only hide the truth but so long, then the new guy will get rid of her too.

the best bet is to get to know every person you encounter and treat them with respect and compassion. some women get the message that they are not important or respected. i choose to listen to and support those people.

How can people put her down and say that she is angry or rude or bitter.

Men are NOT granted grace for being angry. That is nuts. Imagine a man in 2019 hollaring at a woman at work. He would be fired or accused of sexism.

No accountability. No self-reflection. No thoughts on how she might treat others around her better. Not even an examination on how her life has shaped her own behavior and how it might be flawed. "I'm right even though ALL OF YOU think my behavior is distasteful and you're ALL WRONG. Treat me better." Ma'am you may have gotten the applause today, but it's not going to change your situation much.

I just ran into one right now. I just asked her a simple question and got back a horrible attitude. She didn’t need to give me that attitude. She just adds to the stereotype.

Why is there no dissent in this comment section? EVERYONE agrees with this woman?

Stereotypes hurt everyone... they keep us from forming bonds, understanding each others viewpoints, and collaborating to create solutions. With all of the turmoil today, we need to look at each other differently. Thank you for reminding us that bold women are not angry... simply bold... and that color doesn't define our emotions. Well done!

No more. Telling people they can’t succeed. You are telling children they can’t succeed. You are embarrassing yourself

Encompassing all of our emotions that are not warm and accommodating as “angry” is so dismissive. I appreciate this talk for touching on that. Feeling your feelings doesn’t justify treating other people badly, it means that you’re processing an internal reaction to something. When we honor our feelings and when people respect them as a part of our humanity, our emotional intelligence develops so that those feelings are managed in a way that doesn’t (intentionally or not) hurt other people out of reaction.

The level of narcissism by people in these comments expressing there is something wrong with US for speaking out is ridiculous. And....further proves her point. I'm not sure who told you all we have to cater to people and a society that never takes our needs into consideration. Are you kidding me? Expecting someone to change who they are to manage YOUR emotions is narcissistic and insane.

Well, I must chime in. Life can make one ANGRY, bitter. I spent almost 4 yrs single & celibate after a horrific breakup! Did all the work on me. Found the joy that was stolen. I wasn't angry in these yrs of rebuilding (financially too, as he was a leech), but hopeful, optimistic, yet sad as I healed. I finally felt ready to put myself back on the market. Met 2 guys that would change my life in more ways than one! Am I angry, I'm MAD. However, as I once had, I'll work on me - again. I may just stay single, as I am NEVER happier!

This was an excellent video post delivered in a calm professional informative dignified feminine manner by a highly intelligent woman. She correct in what she says. Note if someone ignores you , ignore them back it’s called passive aggression.

Volume. Let’s talk about volume. Words don’t carry more weight if they’re shouted. Turn the volume down if you want people to listen.

Oh so since you are a vibrant person the rest of us have to put up with your "wide range of emotions". Sorry but no. The ability to keep one's emotions in check is a sign of maturity and in the workplace, it is called professionalism. As a former CEO of a $200M company and the owner of my own business, I would not tolerate emotional outbursts. The ability to debate, disagree and discuss a point is an important skill that employers seek. If you believe I am wrong then tell me why but do so in an intelligent and constructive manner. Displaying one of your wide range of emotions tells me that you are incapable of logically and professionally defending your point of view or communicating an alternate strategy. Raise your voice or become emotional and you lose any respect I may have had for you. As valid as your point may have been it is now irrelevant because of your behavior and lack of respect. Disruptive behavior is like cancer in a business environment. With that chip on your should and that the fact that you are in HR is shocking to me. As far as being the only person of color in a business meeting my Marine Corp D.I. said it best, "there ain't no bigots in a foxhole".

People who “personify” the stereotype “deserve” the stereotype.

Serena William was angry even though she knew she did wrong. Her coach was caught signing to her moves. Even her coach eventually admitted he was helping Serena. Yet she could not control her anger at the umpire. The call was justified and she was just portraying the stereotype well.

This will fall on deaf ears because you have to be receptive to receive this information.

I also am not the ABW for decades. I also love every hair in the right place unless I am decorating or doing gym etc; and having a range of dress forms and designs.
