I avoid value Village, they ask for donations, but in reality, if you look at their corporate giving, it is a very very small percentage of the corporate income. So you are basically giving them free items for them to sell at a huge profit And yeah, the prices are high. There’s items there that they are routinely selling at a higher price than Walmart. Value villages in my large urban area have become ghost towns as people have woken up to their less than stellar reputation, and they are only visiting thrift stores that are run by churches or true nonprofits, such as rehab centers, community centres, habitat for Humanity, etc.

My 83 yo friend has owned her Speed Queen for 32 years and still going strong! She loves it. I’ve had a r pair man tell to not expect for than 5 years on new washers or dryers. He recommended Speed Queen.

All most every boy esp loves and wants a BMX bike all my boys had them but I got them for them didn't make them use there money for that, but each to their own I am so glad he finally got a bike he wanted well done, enjoy your bike remember to chain it up every time you have it out so its not stolen on you

Don't get a computerized washer! I bought a new one, like 800.00, already spent 340.00 on a repair and it's not working again!!! I've only had it a few months! I'll never get another smart washer again.. total waste of money!!!

As a young single mother, my parents bought me a used Maytag washer and dryer from a lady going into a nursing home. She had had them for about 20-25 years with no problems. It was only to be a stop-gap until I could buy a new set. I ended up having them for 12 years with no trouble. Finally, I gifted the almost 40 year old set to a young family. Maytag has my loyalty forever.

Value Village use to be a non profit organization for charity. It is now a for profit company and the inflated prices reflect that.

Soooo glad you got a Speed Queen. I LOVE MY SET. Awesome machines. Violet so cute with the ice cream. Took to that fast. A real fun video. I go to thrift stores often. You're right it's a fun hunt. I don't go with a list. One thing I do though. Drinking glasses. I'll never buy them at a retail store again. Thrift them for really really cheaper, wash and use.

That is the only washer & dryer my husband will buy. Washers & dryers don’t last as long as they did years ago. My parents had a washer & dryer for almost 20 years before they had to buy NEW. My husband got a moose years ago and he had the head mounted ❤ at least it's in his office He got it in Canada. It's pretty much the start of Deer season now here in Iowa so my husband is getting ready for that he doesn't like to hunt for them until it starts getting cold it's just not cold enough yet. Hope everyone gets there moose ❤

Farm mom here, we grow crops and livestock, we are also a diy building, and personal mechanic family. As if thats not enough gunk we have 2 busy busy work beside us boys❤. We have had our speed queen 5 years now and its still AMAZING. so far we have not had any issues with it. I think my 14 year old dryer is slowly dieing after a few repairs, i see a speed queen dryer in my future 😊. Blessings from this Iowa momma

It was great to see how excited Weston was to go and get his new bike. Violet just loved that ice cream. It would have been cute to sit her down with a small bowl of it. You never mentioned how Hunter did in his race. Do the kids get participation ribbons or trophy's for the fastest? Have you ever canned chicken? If so does it taste as good after it is canned? My boys loved BMX bikes and we had many broken bones between the three. We also had a few stolen and that was many, many years ago sad to see not much has changed. Know my granddaughters they love thrifting and prices here in CA are high as well. Blessings for a good moose hunt!

Thrift store shopping seems to be a big trend from what I see on RU-vid. The prices at that one seemed high but maybe not for Alaska. The things there seemed to be in really good condition so worth the extra cost. I like the little phone; I remember rotary phones! Wes, good job saving and getting a really nice bike! Violet looks so much like Everett to me. Such a cute little girl who has now joined the Ice Cream Lovers Club! You'll be buying a pint for her soon. LOL

Lauren y'all are wonderful parents. I ike Westies Bike. He was so excited with his new ride. I love love thrifting. I'm a crafter and I often find treasures to refurbish. Do y'all have Restore stores? Check into that. I bought all my granddaughters a china set there reasonably. Violent was loving ice cream time. She is such a happy baby. All your children are happy children. I have a question? Why is it the hunters can not hunt first day flying in? I have watched so many outings with Alaskan people. Fishing, hunting, even you and Mark on your cruise. I am totally in love with Alaska. My husband and I are not healthy enough to travel any longer so our closest is watching RU-vid. I tell our pastor and my family that I go on vacation about every night. The mountains there are beautiful.. We have beautiful mountains here in NC. We were hit with Hurricane Helene 2:weeks ago and our sister counties are in extreme bad shape. It is to get cold this week and so many homeless. Our local churches are getting up coats, boggins, sweaters, gloves, blankets, socks. Anything to keep them warm. We are about 4 hours east of them. Don’t get a front loader, I have gone thru 2. I’m am back to a top loader and have been using it for 3 years now, compared to1 year 28:15 on the front loaders.
