Well, it can be pretty much said that Summer has safely landed! As this video describes, spotting in somewhat 25 degrees weather, however with a rather strong breeze from the west, gusting at times at about 30kts! Of which I do apologise for the wind sounds on the video, but it adds to the drama of course
It's been a long time since I last visited this airport, infact I've only ever spotted here once in the past, so this trip was quite important! Its only really best to do an East Midlands trip during the heart of the summer nights, when the sun is setting around 9:30pm, to make the most of all the cargo flights this airport gets! So in turn I spotted from 4pm-10pm pretty much. Fortunately after rumours that this spot was closed, I finally learned that it was open all along, just the road I parked at last year had been closed. I do point out that to access this mound now, it is quite difficult by car, fortunately someone dropped me off near the spot and I could walk to it and parked elsewhere and waited for me. If you're travelling alone by car, sadly I'd believe you would have to pay to park in a nearby hotel. Walking might also be possible from the terminal? Not entirely sure
Quite a mix in this video, not many Airbus's in sight actually! Mostly Boeing aircraft, including Ryanair 737-800's, Jet2 737-800's and 737-300's, TUI UK 737-800, Thomas Cook A321, Flybe Dash 8 Q400's, DHL 767's, A300's and 757's, West Atlantic 737's and ATP's, UPS 767, Star Air 767's, Aerologic 777, TNT white 757, ASL 737's and more!
