Manchester Victoria is a major railway interchange station in central Manchester which serves as a major interchange for regional rail services, primarily operated by Northern and Transpennine Express. It is a brilliant station to visit to capture all of Northern's Class 150s, 156s, 158s and 195s, as well as Transpennine Express's Class 185s and 802s on cross-country services. It is also served by the Manchester Metrolink.
Manchester Victoria does not win any awards for being pretty, particularly on a grey, rainy day like the one I visited on, and the stench of diesel fumes under the station's low and unventilated canopy is quite extreme. If you have any sort of respiratory illness, this station is one to avoid.
Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my hour or so at the western end of Manchester Victoria - I'm sure that if you choose to visit you will too.
Enjoy the video :)
