It was a VERY busy week hosting our friends and family in the countryside (especially while living with a chronic illness). In this vlog, I take you along with me as I get ready to host TWO dinner parties in one week, what I prepared for dinner, how I typically recharge after a social gathering as an introverted extrovert living with endometriosis, and how I made a mistake of indulging in a particular food that caused an endometriosis flare to show-up. Filming this vlog, and talking through all the steps, made me realize that there are triggers for my endometriosis when it comes to hosting (which include increased levels of stress and anxiety - even if I'm surrounded by those who understand my chronic illness). It was a learning week for me when it came to my chronic illness.
I also include tips and tricks when it comes to hosting - which includes boundaries (something I need to put into place further), having endo-friendly foods on hand for yourself, and having a codeword with your partner / friend to let them know a flare might happen while at the event.
I'd be curious to hear down below how you manage stress / anxiety with a chronic illness when it comes to hosting, how you manage a flare while at an event, and any other insights that you might have along the way!

Thank you for these videos! I have my surgery in September. How does your work handle your really bad flare ups when you are having to work in office? Do you call in sick? I'm in the military, going to be medboarded after my surgery. I am just wondering what I should look for in an employer (on the civilian side) when I have this condition. Hoping that surgery helps alleviate a lot of my symptoms. Right now I usually have a bad flare up once or twice a month that lasts for about 2 days where I literally cannot do anything.

Thank you for the video. I related to the feelings about social gatherings, and the cramping caused by eating different things than usual. I've recently discovered that for me the worse are sweet foods, sometimes even fruit (especially on the second half of the day, which is when I have more pain anyways).
