Yeah that's the main reason I'm a little confused, you could probably talk me into agreeing that it makes sense to ban fury. But Grief should have 100% gone first

I do agree with you for the most part. The thing that scares me is how the deck seems to come together without fury. Scam still has the Grief opening that steals a good handful of games (which become non games the majority of the time) and even without fury has some of the best interaction in the format. I'm just real spooked that even with it's very small showing (4 players) it still took the event down with the top 16 full of known decks.

@neonmushroom6763 I understand what you're saying, but my opinion is we don't have enough information to panic about whether Fury or grief or realistically both would have been best to ban. She definitely got lucky with opponents facing Living End 5 times. Out of her two losses, one came from tron, which she split games she lost to a tron deck once, and she beat a tron deck once. She lost to Yawgmoth the only time she faced the deck. Beat the control decks and beat zoo also faeries and amulet. She faced three different control decks, and the other three decks only played against once, so hard to tell how tell how that match goes. There is not quite enough information for me there yet. She also beat Rhinos twice. I think it's worth waiting for more information, maybe a month or two into the format before talking about if the ban was right. Personally, my opinion is that both Grief and Fury should have been banned, so I don't have a reason to defend Grief, but I do like giving things a shot before panicking.

It's definitely rough, scam won't do this the majority of the time, somewhere between a quarter and a third if I had to guesstimate. But that's still a pretty big issue imo

I think rhino's is MAYBE ok, it's a very easy deck to hate out, though the decks game one win rate is nutty. That said I don't think the meta game we saw at lms was hitting rhino's too hard. Remember to pack chalice in your boards

Honestly I love rhino's, I don't really play it but I think it does a good job of forcing people to play honest. You're not gonna race rhino's or solitaire into a win (with the exception of living end) so it demands respect, especially when it comes to sideboarding
