You really went for that dry wal test! 😆 🤣 Thank you! Great review 👏 I was interested in this and you are the first one I've seen do an honest review on it. You saved me some much needed money 💰 🤑 💸 thank you 😊
You get in there and I respect that! Probably flew it harder than anyone loose that owns it and glad to see someone that’s not just praising it because it’s RR! Kudos homie!
That is the one I was waiting for, everyone needs a portly version of an already bad quad. To me the sad part of the story is years ago Rotor Riot was helpful in growing the hobby. Now promoting consistently awful products that are 3 years past their expiry date has the opposite effect.
Don't forget overpriced, for what they are anyways. I still love their channel, and some of the stuff they have come up with. Letsflyrc makes some pretty cool shit. But I'll never buy it. The "bone drone" is a really old design, remember micromotorwarehouse? They had a brushed plastic frame that used a blade nanoqx flight controller and 7mm brushed motors. They're product page for that frame had a Lego starwars figure as a pilot.
You didn't get a lemon. I have some serious issues with the Bubito. And that is before the constant resetting of itself that it seems to do. Now the motors keep reassigning themselves different directions at each start. The times I did get to fly it: the image has way too much vibration, the craft wants fly when arming - it just keeps bouncing and jumping, the tune they put on this was for some weird controller that they mention was DJI - not sure why I'd use that for this non-HD drone?, but okay. This is my second purchase from Rotor Riot, and definitely my last. They can sit around with NewBeeDrone in the corner of people that shouldn't be in business.
I just got one and wow it is so small so much smaller than I thought it would be. Which is fine. It’s all good. Hopefully don’t break it the first day I feel like if this thing crashes its toast.
I talked myself out of buying this build kit last night, I'm so glad I didn't buy one. I use that same Little Tykes trampoline for practicing my gaps too btw!
I agree with See Well! Same with their LeDrib Cinewhoop, with those big tall ducts circa 2018 ! That quad is way, way past it's expiration date! lol Everything is now using simple guards and weighs a lot less. Like the GepRC, iFlight, BetaFPV, HGLRC, and the new SpeedyBee Cinewhoops. Plus, Rot0r Ri0t wants a small fortune for their quads! Even on their best sale they are way overpriced! IMO, if you can't make quads that are up to date with new technology, and competitively priced, stop making them. I just shake my head when I see those $599 price tags and wonder... What are they thinking?! Just because you "professionally tuned " it, and it has your name on it, doesn't make it worth $200 more than other name brand quads that are also professionally tuned. 🤷🙄
What a mess.. l loved the brutally honest review! It's great to know exactly what I'm getting into if I were to go ahead and purchase it anyways. Keep up the good work!
@@InfinityLoops I got the frame a few months ago and had transferred the components from a betafpv meteor 75 to it. I used to get around 4.5 minutes of flight on a 450 mah battery with Bt 2.0 and loved the smooth agility . but I don’t have even 10% of the skills you have so you will have to answer “can it freestyle?” 😂
Great review. I like rotor riot but I also like comparing their products to a devil’s advocate for making a well rounded choice when deciding on a product. I’m now liked and subscribed to both of you lol. And it’s official. If you’re not already routinely running drones into dry wall, you should start doing it now. It was both hilarious, yet highly educational imo 😂
Definitely skip this one. I really don't see myself ever flying anything but a whoop indoors. Of course, I've tried a toothpick but the props break too often for it to be worthwhile. Disappointed you couldn't get it through the drywall too, cool aid guy style 🎈🤡
I love this little guy just wish it had higher than 50 kW because it’s so fast when I go outside I wanna cruise it around and it just go that far and it’s not made to I get it so I go back to my little 65 pro little bit bigger has a 400 mW max output that goes Surprisingly far. Not sure why they didn’t just stick a little bit higher VTX on it.
I would take the Fractal75 with or without ducts over this for freestyle. With the ducts you can still rip like crazy and do anything you can do with the ducts off. Well worth the extra protection! 👌 and fun AF!
whoops indoors, period. 65 or 75 whatever your preference, for me though, if i need and outdoor small space micro, i either fly a rip squeak or a 3" babytooth.
Yeah got the built version of the Bubito. Couldn't get a battery in the holder. They said to use a heat gun on it. Ok that worked The camera is held in place by the top plate pushing down on it and adjustment is difficult to say the least. Basically they said they were printing a new type of camera mount and if I wanted on I'd have to purchase it. Just like yours the props hit the (I'll call it a camera holder) and had to shave some material off to make them clear. All in all I'm as disappointed as you with this purchase.
What a mess! I'm sorry you got stuck with this garbage. They could have made it better in a lot of ways, unfortunately it still would have poor flight characteristics no matter what they did.
@@tonymorgan328 yeah you could build a pretty sweet 65mm, I would use the betafpv meteror65 pro frame, I have a build of one and it is very durable and has slightly larger props (35mm) than most other 65mm quads
you’re a good pilot,. what would you take over the babito for analog,. the babito seems pretty robust to me from watching your video,. bubby gets 2.5 minutes on 300mah 1s, i agree about the battery though,. i’m going to buy one and replace screws with flat heads
Personally, I'll take a whoop over the Bubito any day. We've gotten whoops to fly so good now, the Bubito handled like poo comparatively. And the price was way too high. But that's just me.
@@InfinityLoops what do you think the best goggles are? i have dji v2, but video out has 3 full seconds of latency,. i am pondering buying HDZero because it has analog and hdmi out. i would like to take someone on the ride with me?
I love the HDzero system for whooping. The difference in video quality (from analog) might not be very noticeable to some, but the latency is beautiful and I get way less breakup. The goggles themselves are a bit thicc 😄. I managed to adjust fairly quickly though.
What's your suggestion for someone who wants to do indoor freestyle and like in a backyard? I know how to fly, I just don't like having to drive half an hour every time I want to fly lol.
I understand not wanting to pack up/drive to fly. I always suggest my daily flier. It's my normal Mobthicc with a Fractal75 frame. I fly this inside and out. It has proven to be very durable and handle some wind. This channel is filled with flights of the Fractal75. That is my go-to for now.
Here's the most recent flights with the Fractal75. Keep in mind I'm using 1002 motors in it, not my usual. So the whoop is actually 3g heavier than normal. Flies a little chunky lol. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-spdQoxY0JxA.html
Just watched this video and firstly thank you. I was going to buy this mini but I will avoid it now. My dilemma is that I have a dji fpv but I don't want to smash it and would like a small drone to get the feel and not worry about crashing it so much. What beginner small fpv would you recommend please 🙏
Hey there, glad it helped. I'd recommend something with ducts like the mobula7 1s or the Fractal75. The ducts help to protect things around you as well as the propellers and motors. They are both extremely capable. I have a few videos flying both on this channel. The Fractal75 is my daily quad. Love it!
Hey, I just found and subscribed to your channel. FPV drones have always fascinated me but I haven't jumped the gun yet and bought one. Do you have a video on a good >200 beginner drone or kit?
Hey John! Welcome and thank you! It sounds like you are looking for RTF (Ready-To-Fly) Kits. I have not yet reviewed any of these kits and I know little about them. I would recommend checking out Nick Burns (if you haven't already) on RU-vid. If you go to his videos and search "RTF" you should find quite a few. He always does great reviews 👍. One bit of advice I can give is that FPV is frustrating sometimes. These rtf kits might still have some quirks, so be prepared to do some repairs as you learn. I can say, FPV is well worth your time!
I'm absolutely loving my NBD mosquito frame with a mobula6 transplanted on it + 40mm gemfan biblades. A bit of a dense frame but easy to tune and flies well. Edit: I should add that the motor plugs were removed from a prior build but not all motor plugs will fit the mosquito frame just fyi
I was debating buying one of these a while ago but I went with building a custom 73mm (40mm prop) baby nazgul instead with xt30 and 19000kv motors. Flies really good and gets 4min of hard ripping. I think the larger props make a huge difference, it’s actually fun to fly outdoors. From seeing your review definitely happy I went this route instead.
I love my flywoo nano. It’s an amazing flying little quad that gives me 5 plus minutes even pushing it full tilt. Acts so much like my 5” it’s ridiculous.
@@InfinityLoops I spend a lot of time with it at this point and I have quite a few quads at this point. I looked for your review on it earlier but obviously didn’t look hard enough. Love your vids dude!
Drywall, that's actually a good real-world test! Good review, you talked me out of buying one of these. Just too many sketchy design choices for my taste
Ok, I’m hearing you on all points so, question: What would you recommend for a small indoor (house up through a gym size space) freestyle quad? Prefer walksnail too, if you have a suggestion there. Thanks.
If you want a indoor freestyle quad, nothing will beat a whoop. They fly so well now, and having the protection around the props helps a ton for indoors. If you don't want to mess with building something, I'd suggest looking at the Mob7 1s or the Moblite7. If you want a smaller footprint, check out the Mobeetle. If you're OK with micro soldering, I'd point you to my daily driver. Kicks ass indoor and out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0b-nboW0Zsg.html If you want something like the Bubito form factor but that was built way better, look into the Odonata, built very well. Hope this helps! If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to ask.
Oh wow, really appreciate the thorough reply, thank you so much! And if I can ask a follow up question, do you have a fav size for a good yard ripper / something for the average 1/4 acre neighborhood lot lol that can easily do power loops and split S’s etc but not be a huge 5 inched scaring the neighbors (though I’ve got great neighbors!)? I’m seeing a lot on 2in and 2.5 inchers. Any suggestions in that size, or something else you’d recommend? And yes, fully for ripping / freestyle - I’ve no interest in racing. :) Thanks!
Anything from a 75mm with the right build, up to a 2.5" toothpick. Maybe start with a 2" with 1002s or something close to that. I prefer my 75mm whoop with the Fractal75 frame, great for indoor and outdoor. That's what I'm usually flying in our motor review videos and freestyles.
😄 I can only say for certain that it left little dents all over, but it isn't the first quad to be smashed into that slab of drywall so it was hard to tell exactly what it did.
Rotor Riot biggest mistake with this realese is by proximity it is marketed that this drone is fully finished tested product instead of I let our Pilot FPV Bubby a teenager design his dream micro freestyle drone and him and his friends tested it and loved it so here it is. Quick youtube search of Bubito you get all the information including build video on how to remove the motor vibration from the video feed. I have a list of things that Rotor Riot pisses me off about but its super obvious from the start of this video that you hated it from the start. Obviously, this kinda quad isnt for old dudes like us but for younger crowd. I think they should of waited and released a more better overall product but I see the potential the kids trying to do and Im thinking by next year he is going to have a legit micro ripper because even right now in this form the kid rips the shit out of it watch the vids. Peace
I just purchased the Fractal 75 kit, running 18K NBD gold motors. Wow! It's like a 75mm Mobula 6 only better. Why would anyone buy these open prop things when the Fractal 75 is soooo good? If you really need a backyard stomp-er get a Jack's 3D print and run 1s. I run 2s and its better than my Tinyhawk 2 race (also a great backyard ripper). It's cool to see hobbiest taking an existing product better and doing it out of their garage. But rotor riot and iflight, what a letdown. "Make better," not just "make also."
I'm curious, did you review the 63mm or the 73mm version of the Baby Nazgul? I love my 73mm version, though definitely not for indoor. It's fantastic in the front/back/side yard! Doing some outdoor rippin' from the porch is where's it at!
Yes! I mentioned it briefly in this video that I do own the 63 baby Nazgul. I was not a fan of the short flights and overall beefiness of the quad. I did hear that the larger version you have was much better. But I never tried it 😞
Heads, thanks for the honest review of this!...I did have my eyes on it. I have question about the bubito in the liftoff micro sim. Did the irl bubito feel anything like that the sim version? I love the feel of that stock one in the sim and havent felt an irl micro like it yet. Is there a micro you would recommend that has that kind of feel and carry that the sim bubito has?
The sim version feels miles better than the real one. My absolute favorite build is a 40mm prop, 25000kv motors, Pico razer, gemfan bi blades, fractal75 frame, 450mah lipo. Indoor/outdoor ripper, tank-like durability while remaining light and agile.
bought this never even got the thing to bind correctly, no help from rotor riot at all, total waste of money aside from it looking super cute and maybe I can use it for parts...
Wow, what a piece of garbage. Maybe they should have sent you this thing BEFORE they put it on the market! Also, I giggled a little watching you repeatedly smacking it into the drywall. Idk why.
Do you have any recommendations of frames that goes way harder than this one ? Curious to know 🥵, currently building a 1s but idk which to go with to freestyle outdoor/Indoor
@@_Elix_ mate the 75mm Happymodel whoop frames or alike are absolutely fine and more fun to freestyle IMO as you can crash n crash and turtle mode and not have stress about broken props or burning escs as easy. Go 25000KV 0802 motors and 450mah battery with a good connection. I have no issues doing all the freestyle moves outdoors with whoops anyways and they don't wash out of you keep them light with biblades. If I go open prop I'm going 2inch or above props on 2S or higher voltage. Even 85mm whoops are amazing on 2S outdoors and again durable and fun 😊. Enjoy.
@@_Elix_ Unfortunately I still waiting for mine to be released... But a few things: -you don't want a sturdier frame but a lighter one. -You want durable motor so 1002 but not the terrible RCin... -these build make absolutely no point over whoop indoor !
I don't have any videos on that. The diy kit doesn't go together well, and your kit is likely different than the one I got back then. As for the tune, RR supplied me with the tune. Link for that is in the description under "cli dump".
Huh, that design is not as good as they made it look. I don't get why you'd have a situation where you'd allow the pops to hit the frame/mount and consider that good.
With all the flaws, it looks more like a product from a cheap manufacturer, who uses their customers as beta-testers, instead of a well designed top tier quad.
Snot don't care about the name or the shape, he just wants to freestyle with that girl. Meanwhile, I'm digging up that nice red tree and putting int the back of a truck... it would look better in my front yard.
The hobby moves fast but surely not so fast that a company that claims to be dedicated to the hobby can't do the research for a single quad to make it fly right. I'm pretty sure what it comes down to with this one is, it needs to hit a certain profit margin and the company that build them couldn't dish out the surplus stock they have of them due to the poor reviews, so. Like the 3,5" that flies like shit but hey, at least it's sub 250g . . this one also exists. Just slap a big brand name on the side and hope it's enough to make it move. You know, like the fatshark HD. Apparently not ready yet but hey, if they can sell it . . the sheep can buy it and pat each others backs like the now abandoned hdzero crew did. Anyone else tired of the next coming of jesus in the form of rushed products yet?
