Best free ride in the UK. Love to be there now. High up, amid all that isolation. This was made four years after I left, though I still remember certain parts - and the train whistle is the most charming I've heard.
happy memories. we used to always go there. i was the youngest and they were the best times of my life. it was a magical pace as a kid. had everything to do and keep you busy. was never bored. this really does take me back. i even remember the smell of the grease in the chairlift station. great upload!!

ha ha remember going on that with my dad as a kid, he never liked heights. Such a happy memories your film invokes. only went their once but what a place it was for kids. Always stuff to do.
as a kid in the 70s it was heaven the fairground was brilliant boating lake with the canoes brilliant the Swinging boats we pull with rope the the giant stood outside fairground with the steam engine and in the dinner hall when it was your birthday you would stand up on a chair and this song Happy Birthday to
We just loved Pwllheli camp and seeing these video s it brought back so much memories for me and the kids we were there in the 60/70 s an on in fact one ov me lads an his mate went back and worked there when thay were 18 y, they loved it I think ithey lasted10years .kept going back .👍
We used to stay in Abersoch and get day visitors passes. The chairlifts seemed to always be shut. We used to end up at the fair going on the motorbike carousel. Loved it.
Only when there once, those chairlifts were long. I loved them used to love waking up in the morning and listening to the whirring of the cables on the pillions! :-) happy days. Now I have to have my fix at Drayton manor.
Always remember them stopping when we were half way down the line and we would be just dangling there in the chairlift! for a good 10 minutes it felt like sometimes
I took my wife there some years back after Haven took it over. Took it over? I should say after Haven killed it, buried it, then dug it up and killed it all over again. It wasn't even as good as Pontins Prestatyn which is/was the shittiest holiday I ever went on as a kid. Two places I will NEVER return to.
Never went there when it was Butlins but have been to it as Hafan y Môr many times...i liked Haven but cant help but think i missed so much not seeing it in its glory days
This must have been later on, those posh log cabins? We stayed once in an extremely “posh” 6 birth caravan, 1988, next to the rock garden and I got “arrested” for being half in and out of the window because we forgot the key, we had to interrupt the show at the gaiety theatre so our parents could identify? We were 12 so were mortified but it did give us a bit of a celeb status, especially at fair and then chairlift!!
