October half term is creeping up, so trick or treat your little monsters to a trip to Butlin's. From 22 Oct to 1 Nov, sink your teeth into un-boo-lievable entertainment and fangtastic activities, including pumpkin carving, eerie arts and crafts and our late-night Scareground. And the spooky celebrations don't end there. We've got spellbinding shows - featuring our very own Halloween villains Igor, Pumpkin Man and Witch - as well as a firework display to end your break with a bang. Feeling brave? Tiptoe through our Halloween Graveyard and experience the frightfully fun Scare Walk. There'll be smiles all round - we can feel it in our bones! As a family we love going to butlins in skegness i cant speak for the other 2 sites that butlins have but i do remember going to barry island many years ago. Butlins for us never gets old its 1 of the holidays a year we always look forward to going to so much to do the shows are fantastic. This year felt a little different due to covid but i can this has been 1 of the better years. Not to many people no crazy lines of people waiting to see the shows no massive lines for a drink at the bar everything we controlled by the butlins app. ordering drinks as waiter services. Book the shows and swimming so u didn't have to wait in line just turn up 15mins before the show starts and walk straight in sit down and order your drinks.
Bit of history about butlins
Butlins Skegness (officially Butlins Resort Skegness), formerly Butlin's Skegness or Funcoast World; is a holiday camp located in Ingoldmells near Skegness in Lincolnshire, England. Sir William Butlin conceived of its creation based on his experiences at a Canadian summer camp in his youth and by observation of the actions of other holiday accommodation providers, both in seaside resort lodging houses and in earlier smaller holiday camps.
Construction of the camp began in 1935 and it was opened in 1936, when it quickly proved to be a success with a need for expansion. The camp included dining and recreation facilities, such as dance halls and sports fields. During World War II, the camp was subject to a short military occupation when it served as a Naval training base, reverting to being a holiday camp in 1946. Over the past 75 years the camp has seen continuous use and development, in the mid-1980s and again in the late 1990s being subject to substantial investment and redevelopment.
In the late 1990s the site was re-branded as a holiday resort, and remains open today as one of three remaining Butlins resorts.
