Buttercream Icing Recipe | Silky Smooth With No Bubbles 👩🏼‍🍳✨ In today's video I'm sharing with you the buttercream icing recipe that I always use for cake decorating. It is silky smooth and tastes delicious. I show you how to mix the buttercream as well as minimize air bubbles and air pockets along with an option for creating really white buttercream if you're looking for that. Enjoy!

Recipe:
1 lb salted butter (can use unsalted and add salt to taste)
7 1/2 cups powdered sugar (use 10x if you can)
2 tsp vanilla (can use clear if want even whiter icing)
4 tbsp milk (or heavy cream)
-beat butter for 5 minutes on medium-low
-sift in powdered sugar 2 cups at a time, mixing on low, and alternating in liquid ingredients
-beat for 5 minutes on low
-stir frosting by hand to knock out air pockets

Thank you! This was very helpful for someone who is “just starting” (I can cook and bake, but now I’m on the adventure of elevating it, not just making ok enough for home) I’m assuming the same rules apply for using a hand mixer? I know it’s not going to be as smooth, but currently that’s what I have.

I'm so glad you found it helpful!! 😃 Yes you can for sure use a hand mixer! The mixing won't be exactly the same, but it can do a good job! Just go by looks and texture rather than following these directions exactly and you'll be just fine!

Oh and still use the lowest couple settings to avoid adding additional air into the icing :)

Sure! I'll try my best to convert: 1 lb butter (454 g) 7 1/2 cups powdered sugar (700-900 g; use 700 g and then add the rest to taste if you want it sweeter or thicker) 2 tsp vanilla (5 g) 4 tbsp milk (30 g) Hope this helps!

Hi Britnee! Just found your channel and loving the content already! I'm looking to make buttercream truffles. The shops I've been too have filling so light and airy, but I can't find a recipe for the filling. Is buttercream icing going to be the same thing? Or is it something different for filling a truffle? Thanks!

Ohh thank you!! I know exactly what you’re talking about! I also am working on figuring out how those are made. I’m guessing it’s very close to buttercream but there must also be other ingredients used to extend shelf life! Stay tuned, I will research this and see what I can figure out!
