One awesome feature of these IEMs that reviewers keep not mentioning, is that they are vented IEMs that have 26db of noise isolation. That's crazy! If you need an IEM for airplanes or public transit, and you can't stand the pressure all BA sets create, than these are perfect for those situations. That's the main reason I got these myself and its awesome cable.
Agreed with vocals feeling a bit muddled/squashed but the technicalities and imaging/soundstage seem noticeably great. On top all of that the bass texture and amount is satisfying
I agree with you. Mine arrived 3 days ago. Comparing to SM4, the imaging and stage are immediately noticeable. But the vocals are bit distant and congested for female. Less of a problem for male vocals. The bass is really good. I didn’t know bass can be hi res lol. I did end up returning them. Next in line to try is DaVinci.
So I take it that the midrange and the vocals sound a bit veiled? I notice that close-up photos of the nozzles show that the thick metal mesh screens are literally right on top of the tuning filters for the BA driver tubes. A gap between the screens and the tuning filters would be preferable for better sound dispersion and less diffraction. Or perhaps mesh screens with thinner mesh wires? I am simply wondering if there might be a simple fix in order to remove any veiled sound for the vocals and the midrange.
It's interesting to see your rating on this one. It just goes to show that audio is definitely subjective. I'm saying that with much respect too. I personally bought this IEM after hearing so many positive reviews on it and I LOVE this set. I believe preference will also have a lot to do with the type of music you listen to most frequently. I still appreciate the review though and will continue to support this channel. There's not a single IEM that will be liked by EVERYONE.
Yes I agree completely here. Preference plays a 100% role in all reviews, and I think more people need to recognize it and stop taking opposing reviews as a personal attack.
I havnt heard the Davinci so cannot speak on that. But I do know these blow the Performer 5s away no contest and those got a 2 Green thumbs up. He must just have a different taste in sound. He gave the SuperMix a half green thumbs up. Every other reviewer has them significantly higher. Highly doubt any shadiness in his review, just not his preference. Audio-in is part of Gizaudio channel and he said they are the best at the $200 price range.
When I first tried them there was absolutely zero bass. I mean zero. Apparently the eartips made a huge impact. Normally I’m a medium/large. These I have to wear small/medium to get the bass hit. Even with zero bass these sounded astonishing. But once I switched tips.. holy F. Went from the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard to the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard with a lot of boom. You are right tho. I love the bass!
Can you take a look at the Paiaudio PDM7? It very briefly got some hype over on Head-Fi but I swear only like 3 people have heard it at this point. I have one coming and will measure it but curious what an actual reviewer's take is on it.
Juzear is a blessing in this hobby crammed with harman tuning that is force fed down our throats with product after product. This is for more chaotic music like rock and metal, other comparisons i dare you to test with heavier metal. You'll find that harman tuning to be way overbearing.
I happen to listen to A LOT of heavy metal. Also harman is not crowding the hobby. People like to slap harman on things that are not even remotely close to harman, but truthfully, there are very few harman tuned/ harman inspired IEM on the market. Variations Nova Xenns Top Chopin Supermix 4 EM10 Truthear Zero (Blue) Khan Xuan NV Glacier Helios and maybe like 5 more that's slipping my mind. 10 - 15 IEMs is hardly crowding the hobby that produces what feels like 10 new IEMs a week
@@Gizaudio what bands? Even if a lot of them are not harman tuned most have too much pinna gain in comparison to those who dont. So finding iems tuned for such is rare in my opinion.
I saw the 61t so popular among reviewers for being so good. But now after timmy review this adds some confusion. Anyway best i guess is to try the iem from a store or through a friend before buying. Everyone has their own feeling of iems these days .
thanks for this review timmy, saves me a few bucks, actually i was glad you skipped the accessories and unboxing, focus more on the sound and comparisons, bravo
I never buy when a new iem is out and hyped.I wait to see if the hype continues or the fumo disappears.. However perfection doesn't t exist.I started the hobby with cheap KZ sets to understand my tunning preferences and now i know. Not exactly but it's hard to make a big mistake..Every iem has its own personality even the cheap ones but first of ALL it comes the fitting. If it's not good it doesn't matter if it's the best or the most expensive iem of the planet it's useless
It's all subjective, someone may truly enjoy and prefer one iem's sound presentation over another and that is why if possible you should try iems before purchasing.
