Looking back - my previous "tutorial" on the fan (the second trick I ever posted) had almost 2 million views but was absolute garbage and probably the only tutorial I am not proud of. I get messages all the time that people can do advanced tricks but still can't fan. This ones for you, noobs :) 10% off at Squid Industries (The BEST balisong trainers worldwide) with link squid.bigflips.xyz Want an awesome knife? Want to support me? I'm super proud to be supported by BladeHQ and Squid Industries. Both are highly esteemed in the balisong community and are known for their excellence. If you click a link in the description and buy a knife I get paid! - this is the best way to support me and get a great balisong! Love you all
This is not to say that all your old tutorials are bad by any means... But this channel is SUPER fun to watch, and you have, hands down, the BEST tutorials for flipping on the platform. I would LOVE to see an entire remake from episode one of all the tricks you think people should learn by difficulty. Not only would it help grow the channel, but we'd also see your lovely flips all over again in higher quality.
Noob here... This was amazing! So nice to see someone that can actually explain what to do instead of just showing a trick in slow motion. Seriously, thank you! I love how you break it down step by step. Super helpful! 👍
I've been flipping for like 6 months, I have a good handle on the basics and know some intermediate/ advanced stuff but I've never been able to sustain a fan that's not the "spike" fan. This is the most useful tutorial I've seen and the closest I've gotten so far
Yeah. I was having a lot of difficulty doing the standard fan too. I was finally able to do it some of the time by adjusting my rotation. However, when I put down my $8 Amazon trainer (I know, I know!), running rather loose and not particularly smooth on fixed pins, and then grabbed my $160 knife running on nice bushings, I was suddenly doing it like a pro. Just ordered a $40 Nabais trainer running on bushings. I could tape the blades on my two knives to train with, but they are too nice to be tossed across the room. 🤣
You can try constantly 'pushing' your hand away from you when fanning (to keep the bite handle from pulling the blade up) or cheesing it by doing a vertical rotation instead of a horizontal rotation lol
Thank you so much. I really enjoyed this tutorial and am looking forward to trying more. The muscles in my hands feel like they went through a really good workout.
I started flipping in my teen years thanks to this channel. After a long hiatus I come back to this channel cause I wanted to get back into it and I guess my timing couldn’t be any more perfect.
anytime i look up a tutorial for balisong i always click on another video first but those never ever seem to work to help me learn but these videos by your are by far the best videos to learn any trick. you truly are the best person to learn from and have never had trouble when watching your videos thank you
I can do a spike fan but it wont heli fan but that maybe because i use a self designed 3d printed balisong the cg is about right maybe a bit more weight towards the handle but i dont know how to integrate that into a combo?.. (nobody can tell me the law around balisong trainers in my country😢) but once more well explained. Thank you
Wait a Spike fan is a real thing? I thought it was just me messing up a normal fan, thanks for informing me and others like me about the existence of Spike Fans
David Blaine has been reappearing. We need Big Flips to become his balisong advisor. Think about it… what they could when they put their minds together…. Magic
Hello Big Flips, I want to ask you and the community where to buy balisongs trainers. I am new to flipping and want to buy myself a butterfly knife. I really like the nautilus, but dont want to spend 250€. I saw some alternetives like armed shark kolisong or ali express where u can get the knife for 60 bucks, is it worth it to buy these or will they break or idk do you guys have expirieces with clones then pls help me out.
YO the magepunk 3.0 came out in valorant and theres a new butterfly knife with unique animation. its a transfer so you should check it out! maybe make a tutorial on it for us dummies?
since i have a nabalis vulp the grip method explained in this video really didn’t help me at all since the entire portion you need to wrap your ring finger and pinky around is aggressively grippy. HOWEVER, if youre like me (a beginer with a vulp) i recommend just dropping the idea of using ring and pinky technique to support your fan (just let em wrap around the safe handle naturally) and instead shift your technique to the middle index and thumb. just do the same spinning motion in the video and notice that the helicopter propeller keeps falling low and bumping your index and thumb and stopping. to prevent this you need to lightly and rapidly twist the safe handle with your index thumb and middle to keep the fan afloat (dont stick your fingers all the way on, just give the bite handle a light tap with all three fingers to twist it and do this super briefly but super often).. so like its hard to visualize from just text but ill link a video that shows it in the replies
