Lake District wild camping - I had no real plans before I set off to the Lake District but ended up in the Buttermere Valley. With lots of low cloud and overnight rain forecast I decided to wild camp at a lower level so I would at least get some views, and set off for Rannerdale Knots at only 1164ft (335m). When I reached the junction of the path to Whiteless Pike I decided to carry on and see if there were pitching options on the summit of this little pyramid shaped mountain at 2165ft (660m). I found a great little spot and had the place to myself overlooking Crummock Water with views of the surrounding high fells, and set up the MLD Duomid tent for a night on the mountain. Visibility soon deteriorated with wind and rain overnight and I awoke inside a cloud before packing up my wet gear and heading down the mountain in the rain (apologies for the sometimes poor video footage as I just couldn't keep the lens free of rain water). Still a great little adventure, despite the weather, and finished off with breakfast in Keswick. A 6 mile walk with 2000ft of ascent.
Many thanks for watching - Dave
