So buttery and so delicious! #shorts Ingredients: 3 Cups All Purpose Flour 2 Tsp Salt 1 Tbsp Baking Powder 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter 1 Cup Water Extra Flour for Dusting 😊 Enjoy!
This recently popped up in my news feed and I had to try it. My family loved them! My husband told me it was better than any store bought brand he's tried. I struggled getting them nice and round, but with practice I'm sure I'll get there.
Best tortilla recipe! So buttery and soft. I only wanted like 3-4 for a quesadilla, here's the recipe, but divided into a quarter for anyone who's cooking for themselves only ♡ 1/4 tbsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup hot water 1/8 cup unsalted butter (2tbsp)
I made them today. Used country crock cause I didn’t have butter. Used less salt and they were great. Better than with lard like my MIL sorry mom. They were soft. I think a super hot griddle works best. Figured that out in the third one.
I’ve made these 3 times now absolutely amazing. I also love adding cinnamon to these to make desert ones with a chocolate sauce they’re so good for any occasion
I've tried it and they were delicious! It's really not an exact science, so it takes practice. Even if it's not 100% perfect, the fruits of your labor are YUMMYY
I made this recipe exactly how she instructed and my tortillas came out amazing!!! I compared a stack of 12 to the bag of 16 you buy at the store and my 12 stacked HIGHER! This recipe is super easy and super yummy!! Thank you so much :) Muchas Gracias!!
I was never a fan of using anything other than lard in my tortillas. So I gave these a try and now this might be my go to recipe for tortillas. They are extremely delicious and soft.
I made these with my stand mixer and dough hooks. It made it so much easier for me. Then I still had energy to roll them out and cook them. Super soft and yummy. This is my second time to make these. It is now my go to recipe. ❤
Hello 👋 Can I ask you how long you you kneed them in the mixer and at what number speed if you can tell 🤔 me because I am totally new at the mixer and at dough making please 🙏 🙂 If you can thank you very very much 😊 any of your suggestions and help would be extremely helpful 😊 😀 🎉🎉 . I am excited to try this. Have a beautiful week.
@@sandraolsen6596 I copied down what I did today. I hope it helps! As follows: Butter flour tortillas 1 stick Butter 1 cup water (hot hot hot! To melt butter or microwave butter in the water until melted.) 1 tsp salt [I like less salt. ;-) ] 3 cups of flour Put salt in flour in mixing bowl run on low to blend. Add water and melted butter and mix on low and gradually bring to medium. I mixed on 2 speed initially, increasing to 3 on my sunbeam stand mixer. Pay attention, the mixture will start to be less sticky fairly quickly. When it is soft but not real sticky you stop it. It only mixed a total of 5 minutes for me. Let it sit. 10 minutes. Under damp tea towel or plastic wrap. This lets the gluten relax. Allowing the tortillas to rest creates a softer nicer tortilla IMO Then with your hands take and knead it a bit before dividing it into 12 to 14 balls. Then left rest for another 10 minutes in the bowl. Under wrap. Rolling out tortillas. Use flour to keep from sticking, but not too much Use a rolling pin roll them out, not too thin as that makes them dry. I use a stack of wax paper and cover them and then put them on my hot to medium hot flat iron pan. Let one side cook until puffy and flip. I have a tea towel that I wrap them in a tortilla warmer. It helps them stay soft and yummy.
@@SaltyCocina I’ve made them twice now. Loved them both times, but mine came out too thick too. Maybe I’ll try a little more water next time? Thank you for sharing this recipe.
Oh yummy I can’t wait to try this recipe!!! By the way I made the Mack and cheese recipe your grand son made and it was delicious!! It was a big hit with everyone, there was no left overs!!! Tell him thank you so much for the recipe please!!!
I haven't made flour tortillas yet, but I've watched a lot of videos and this looks like it's going to be the best and easiest. I like that you put the butter into the water. That is so much easier than other people's versions.
Thank you for clear and easy to follow instructions. They were so delicious. Unfortunately mine never came out round but more like state and countries shaped. I will practice. 😊
I have watched and tried so many Tortilla receipes and all were not so go. Then I came upon her and her receipt so I thought I would give it a try. This is the best, easiest and most simple receipe to make. Taste Great, no flour mess, soft tortillas. Enjoying them today too, still soft. Thank You for giving us this receipe. I would recommend everyone that makes tortillas to make this receipe.
I have made tortillas before with lard and wasn’t a fan, theses are much better and were great after cooking warmed with the flame of my gas stove. Thank you!
I was convinced (as a northern white boy) when she pronounced "tortilla" . I will make these in the morning and then proceed to bastardize it with a wonderful corned beef and cabbage filling. With proper seasoning of course.
