Excellent review honest as always, im of the same opinion i wont drink these fashionable expensive drinks im not a massive fan of ipas i much prefer Octoberfest style beer.

Three 660ml bottles of Warsteiner for £6 or one can of this for £3.50. It's a no-brainer for me. However I would like to try this on draught.

I guess in summary you`ve been disappointed with the autumn releases as I have. My biggest disappointment was not getting hold of the German supermarkets Octoberfest offerings. I think they & the British supermarkets should bring in all the German brewers they can because I think thats what the public want, a big choice oftop quality lager/pilsner style backed-up by the Reiheitsgebot & sold at 2 quid a bottle. I`m sure it`s doable, why doesn`t someone start the ball rolling? I`d be all-in on it for sure.

Aldi still have Brewdog’s Octoberfest lager, but I guess that’s not selling for a few reasons. Would like to see it reviewed. £14/15 for 12 330ml cans is a risk

Buxton's supermarket offerings have all been pretty good. Can't wait to try this one. That being said, its a good point about the comparison to drinkability with german lager. I think NEIPAs are at their best when they're bigger. You certainly get the most from the malts and hops when they're bigger and boozier. German lagers dont need to be strong to be tasty.

I know what you mean about the sameness. I’m surprised that breweries don’t produce more Mountain IPAs. That’s a style that has a really good balance.

Just had this. I was struggling with the taste. I came here to see what you think.......as I often do! The peach deffo dominates the flavour! I couldn't put my finger on it at first.......this is why your reviews are so important to us beer drinkers. As strange as it may sound, they help the drinker to understand some of those underlying flavours! Cheers Simon! Joe 🍻

The way i see it i woud rather buy and enjoy 3 or 4 cans of Vocation Love and Hate rather than buying 10 cans of Carling for the same price. At the end of a long week.

I’m slowly moving away from these £3-£5 cans unless I come across a lovely imperial stout for £5 I’d rather go totraditional ales or stouts plus Guinness on Nitro and Forged Irish Stout whether if they are in cans or bottles

Would have been all over this two/three years ago but I found the prices were going up and the quality was going down so like many it would seem, I'm sticking with German beers like Paulaner,ABK,Weihenstephaner or even the Spanish Victoria Malaga lager if I'm tight for cash.I might buy 1 to try but not a bunch like I used to

Hi Simon, been watching your beer reviews for years, I agree with your discontent about the way a lot of brewers are producing some terrible excuses for so called beer. However you used to be able to include this topic on the Stoned Crow interactive sessions, now for a long time it's feeding into quite a lot of your beer reviews, and we see it coming a mile off. It's becoming a bit stale, I tend to skip the review more often when I hear the diversion from the beer in the glass to the repeat history lesson of downhill breweries, always the usual suspects. Consider the Stoned Crow return, and we can all rant and rave in realtime together! Love the channel Boom Cheers!

A rant against samey New England IPAs is entirely justified, but you picked the wrong beer to base it around. This one is actually interestingly different than the juicy but bland norm.

The more edgy and ‘different’ the cans label, the less likely I am to buy it. The whole desperation to appear cool actually turns me off craft beer. I’m in a very similar position to you regarding value. I really can’t see where they get off charging these prices for cans of ‘craft beer’ I’ve noticed Tesco are getting close to £4 a can mark in there 4 for three deal which I think is piss take.

I'm not keen on the oats. Oats were never used in blonde beers until NEIPAs. They push the cost up and take the edge off the hops used in the boil so you end up with a beer designed for the female palate.

Aldi in Ireland have a whole wall of IPA's, bottle's and can's. I would not even pick up anything that has IPA written on it. A fad that's had it's day.
