An editor with a brain would change it to subtlety in the same way they would change safeness to safety. I'm an English professor with formal training in general and applied linguistics. I was mostly joking, but what I stated is correct. No one is perfect; I wasn't trying to offend; I just thought it was an unconventional and funny word choice.
